Ain't a diesel but it works...

Was gonna get an 08 Dodge w/ Cummins but for mine and my wife's needs, the Armada seemed a little more appropriate. Has a "Tow Mode" and rear 'auto-leveling' suspension when loaded down. About 14.5 mpg when towing the load pictured below...

If I could afford a designated "tow rig" and a daily driver along with a trailer and my wheelin' rig, I'd probably get the Dodge (thing hauls ass and seemed to ride decent as well).

Note: U-haul trailer because I don't have room for a trailer at my house and I can drive my Jeep to the local trails (mainly Reiter)

Just picked this up last weekend for $200. 68 3/4 ton, 292 straight 6 rebuilt about 5k ago, sm465, eaton rear sitting on 4 coil springs. Its getting power discs, power steering and air bagged but I'm still thinking about putting the 454 I'm picking up in a couple weeks into it......

Right on Ryan, I always thought you were due for a towrig of some sort. You should put propane on that pig to save some fuel $$.

Way ahead of ya.... the wrecking yard I used to work at has a bunch of old farm truck from a farm I used to work at.. All the 1 ton's have 'pane systems on them with 50 gallon tanks. :D

I dont know, call me kind of backword thinking and all, but I thought tow rigs were to tow the trailer, not ride on them....:scratchhead:

:haha: :haha:

Heres my tow rig...03 Dodge 2500 5.9 cummins (oh baby!!) Auto, 6in lift, 37x13.50x18 Mickey Thompson MTZ with Classic Lock wheels. Pretty much stock other than AFE stage 2 intake. It was a old grandpa stock truck when I got it. I tinted the windows, line-x the bed, toolbox and straight piped it also.

I love it! I used to tow with a 2000 tundra 4.7 v8 :booo: ...Yeah lets just not talk about that. Ill post some pics later with the whole package...dodge, camper, trailer, wheeler, quad...ya know the camping set up!!

1990 Ford F-350 4x4 5-speed. has the 7.3 diesel (non turbo) with an ATS aftermarket turbo kit on it. sittin on 35's but is getting 38's soon. hefty ass flatbed. weighed it down at everett steel and it is 6540lbs... heavy... now i just need a trailer. planning on changing out the fuel metering valve so it will blow even more black smoke and putting either 4" or 5" straight pipe or stacks on it.
