I see alot of yes votes so who has made it up this year? anyone can make it down, whether or not on tires or on lid is the question. I wanted to try it last time I was at reiter but had just broken a leafspring on the stairstep or whatever you call it.:redneck: and the guy I was with had a broken brakeline.:eeek: Now I cant until I finish the wheeler.

I just saw the pics and it looks nicely rounded since I was there a couple years ago.

The top is always changeing constantly:awesomework:

ive made it up that quite a few times. havent tried this year but then again i dont have my wheeler anymore. did it a few years ago in my ifs custom cab toyota on bald 33's.

I go up that thing all the time but last weekend I hit a tree with my driver front fender and pinched off my front ARB line and still went up it with no issue open in the front:awesomework: twice for that matter:D

My point exactly.

Question lies--can you get up it without digging bigger holes and hence causing it to be even harder.

damn it. last time I was there it was at least 4ft straight down wall that was undercut about a foot so no one had come up it for a while. next time Im there I will conquer it.:cheer:

was on it a couple months ago with clarkw in his 4runner, went down not up though.

i took a couple pics of him going down, if he chimes in maybe he'll post them up.:awesomework:

if i can tow my truck out there im down for trying it out. it'll be the first time having my truck actually out on the trail. :cheer:

whens the next time everyone's going to be out?:corn:

just remember, if at first you dont make it, back up and floor that son of a bitch untill you do! :cheer:

:haha: atleast thats what a friend thinks, im waiting for him to flip over, or break something BAD :fawkdancesmiley:

huh? We talking about the same poopchute? Going down is one thing, but I dont think most built trucks can make it UP let alone an ifs truck on bald 33's... lol :awesomework:

the first time i had my rig out after the sas. i was running with a group, and when i started the stair step i bent the hell out of my old ghetto fabbed crossover steering.. thanks to crash, hip,and others i was able to pull it off sleeve it with hi lift handle then drive home.
that was 2 years ago,and ive never been back to stair step or poop chute (dam i need to get out and wheel more.)
so i woukd have to say i dont know..i would try, always at least try something right..
and the dang poll dont have an i dont know choice!!!

and for those of us that dont know if we can. when is money putting on the poop chute clinic? :haha: :haha:

Anyone have any current pics of the 'shute????? The one I posted was from april '08; I'm sure it's changed quite a bit ---:eeek:

Up Poop Chute is so 2002...

It used to actually be challenging before it was intentially dug out a few times for the bikes and the ledge went away.

Going down is easy...

If you man up and take the harder right line...be sure your carb is happy.

I stepped down the right line, but even with 105" wheel base the nose dropped pretty deep. Rig died, did a two lever, two pedal dance, and it dropped catty wompus in the chute.

I was solo (except for my two little boys...) so being crossed up in the chute was not feeling lovely at all. Luckily with some crafty front burns and patience I made it down ok...

My seat cover needed to be washed.

Not that it is a huge deal...but once I get my FI done I would like to play around on it going both directions.

I was gonna say, it def. looks about twice as wide now. I could make it up and down i think, (i meant to vote "no" in the poll:rolleyes: ) But I was told not to go up it as an unspoken rule to keep it from eroding, and no one in my group usually wanted to try it so there was no point in me going for it. oh well...

That chit is no problem. Have not done it in a while but I use to drive up and down the thing all day long. I will own that thing when the new rig is done. As a matter of fact I'll hit that chit in 3rd gear with the big block pinned and kick those 47's a little sideways for a pimpin landing on the top. Maybe even drive straight up then launch the side wall and see If I can do a complete barrel roll and land on the tires at the top. OOOOOHHHHHH That would be sick.:awesomework:

I think with the new requirement of using poop shoot as the main traverse point, poop shoot is going to get destroyed. More fun for the really built rigs, but impassable for the smaller and stock rigs.

Especially if it gets mucky and muddy (think Sac-Up and how dug out its gotten). Even if the rocks on top are knocked down/out/blasted, it will just continue to be dug out hollowed until its just a trough through the hill side.

*I* don't think its a viable route for long (or even short) term. And to answer the poll, my current wheeler is SUA but locked at both ends with 33's (and a shitty carb), down isn't a super big deal. Interesting cause I'm not used to dropping off ledges like that, up I don't think I would make it. And my old wheeler only has a basic 4-point cage, I wouldn't feel comfortable even attempting up, down is worry some enough.
