toyota update

Mostly tube then ,huh ? You gonna use skins over the top ?

ya, skins on top and sides and hood.. it isn't going to be too different from most f-toys that use a Hendrix chassis. i am just not going to buy a chassis i am going to have or make this one the way i want it vs buy a chassis and change it to what i want..

stripped the doaner 90 4runner of what i needed and parted out what some people wanted... i will be using the v6 rear axle front rotors and calipers, brake booster and master, clutch master, and i pulled the steering box for a spare..

we crushed the 82 cab, opened the 4runner like a taco stuffed the cab in the cab then stacked the 82 bed on top, loaded on the trailer and off to the scrap yard... $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$ for parts

i guess i forgot to mention the first case had to be torn apart to do a forward shift to top shift conversion... then added the twin stick. then turned the second case into the crawl box.. had to weld a piece on the stock shift fork so the shifter doesn't pop out due to only one shift rail being used in the crawl box... but hey you all knew that already

:scratchhead: i always end up with extra parts :haha:

what made you decide to change the front shift fork from forward to top? from the looks of the pics your have a g series tranz with a spot for a forward shift shifter?

no the seat will not be that high.....new seats just came in, i am awaiting matching rear bench.... i guess by looking at the seats you already know what colors the rest of this rig will be when it is done

it was a forward shift i had in there... when i went online to trail-gear their twin stick was $149 just for it but there top shift conversion with the twin stick was also $149 so **** the more i can buy for the same price the better....also when i bought the second case to do my duals i was told some metal shavings from the grinder (from the previous owner) may have gotten into the case and it would be a good idea to take case apart clean it out and put it together... i figured i would just take one case about (that one) and make a crawl box out of it and take the case that was already on my truck which i knew was good and throw it in the rear.....with all that said you can't shift a forward case into the crawlbox so a top shift would have to be done... little did i know at the time inorder to do the forward to top the whole case had to come apart.... i was just expecting to knock out the push pin and slide the shift rail out .... but once i got all the parts and saw what i had to do i said hell with it and just did it all anyway..... it was fun quick and easy... only took 3 hours to do everything...(2 cases completly disassembled 1 put back together and the crawl box made and mated)... i can live with that.... also i reversed my crawl box shifter because it was interfering with the twin stick (levers too long) so by having both top shift and a reversed shifter up front there is plenty of clearance for all levers now :awesomework:

i guess in your case is doesn't really matter as you don't have a cab on your rig at the moment,

but just an fyi you can use forward shifting rails in the crawl box.

anyways not bustin your balls or anything just wondering what your reasoning behind the conversion.... so is this rig getting a cage or a cab?

i know you can have a forward shift crawlbox... :awesomework: i didn't know the conditions of the other case i know my case was good so i wanted to keep it together and take the other case apart and make a crawl box out of it..... i didn't want to make a crawl box out of my tcase and bolt the other one up in the back and find out it was "f"-ed up......

no body on this rig.................. F-toy.......................all cage
