I thought i would post up some pics and info on my rebuild of my buggy i built about 5 years ago. I built this originally for just rock crawling and then after going to koh and using it for a prerunner for my buddies i got the speed bug. I then got involved in racing races in Montana and Wyoming and after all the abuse my last race ended with me loosing a left rear tire and the tranny giving up. The first pics are the different stages of the buggy.

These are all the things that are being done for the rebuild
complete re wire
chassis sandblasted and painted
gussets added to link mount
move battery to behind seat
add brake lights
every bolt replaced
all new wheel bearings and seals
starter and alternator rebuilt
tranny rebuilt and custom stall tq converter built
all new hiems ends
new rear axle built since last one was toast
buy and install new race radios
build new floors to replace lexan floors
build tire carrier to get tire farther out the rear for balance
replace warranty chomoly shafts in rear that were bent

These pics are where i am right now on the rebuild. Front axle is completely done and the rear is all done minus brake lines. This week will be primer and paint and then time to start throwing parts at it.

no but i was marks spotter and the hood and grill were our spares off his buggy. I worked at Twisted Customs for about 3 years so when i built mine i asked jason p if i could build one like out old comp one and he said go for it.

Thanks guys! Spent the night filling my garage with paint spray. Been using self etching primer and seems to work great. Should be able to get the rest primered tomorrow and at least one good coat of paint on it. Should be rolling the axles under by the weekend at least get the links and coilovers on.

I've used it before and its nice stuff--but a little on the toxic side :D

How many fingers am I holding up :fawkdancesmiley:

o yes respirators were used. I grabbed a couple from work!!! Need to buy 3 more cans to finish it off! The stuff does dry fast but i also had the wood stove cranking and it was up to 78 degrees in the garage!

Chassis is painted! Assembly starts this weekend!

Worked on the buggy all weekend. Axles are under and sitting on the bump stops. The new Ballistic Fab battery bracket looks great and fit awesome. Got the new 37 iroks put on for snow wheeling instead of the sticky krawlers. I also put in a 5 gal fuel cell for local wheeling to give me more for spare parts and tools and when i go racing i will just swap in the 12 gallon cell. This week i will be getting the engine tranny and tcase in.

This is going to be the new location of the spare tire. I need to get some weight further over the rear end to balance it out and make it not so nose heavy. I hope to build the spare tire mount this week.
