What axles is TC going to now? As HORSEPOWER and TORQUE go up the more **** is going to break. Just think about the about the Horsepower and Torque difference in the last 5 years? booyang A kickass motor 5 years is now just average one. Everybody is stepping up their game :driving:. The question that I keep asking myself is,"Where will we be in another 5 years?" :dunno:

I wouldn't really worry about that. Think about how long the SBC was the gold standard. Luckily our sport isn't like electronics where the shelf life of something is measured in months rather than years. I think the GEN III/IV motors we are running now are around to stay for awhile. It'll just take the aftermarket a little while to step up parts. Where 250-350hp was pretty much the norm now it is 400-500hp. I see this "new norm" being around for quite some time. Of course there will always be the racers with deep pockets and guys like TC running 600+ HP and monster bling parts and pushing the envelope but that's true in any sport.

i'm not researching it, but how big is the 80 ring gear? What are the gear options there?
That looks like a big rock anchor hooking bitch

From the link that I posted :flipoff1:

I checked this out at SEMA too and it was impressive.

The axle shown at SEMA is a ProRock 80, not a Pro80. The PR80 is much lighter than the Pro 80 and is machined for high clearance like a PR60 but is a low pinion housing. In a complete, comparable assembly it will weigh less than 40# more than a PR60. Diff clearance is 1" less than a PR60. The gear strength is 100% stronger than a HP 60 rear axle. Axle tubes are 4"x 1/4" wall (much stronger than 3-1/8" x1/2" wall). All PR 80 units will have 40 spline shafts.

Lockers will be available from ARB, Detroit and Eaton ELocker.

11.25" Ring Gear, Ratios from 3.31-5.38

Spidertrax is about to jump into the standard axle game. (60's and the like) Offered in both 4340 and 300m. You will be reading about them soon. just thought I would throw that in the fire for ya.

A standard 80 has about 1/4" less ground clearance than a standard 14-bolt. It has most fo the same gear options as a 60 or 70.

This a quote from pirate "I was talking with Scott Morris this weekend at the indy show he has been running the **** out of his 80/rocks and loves them 1 3/4 inner and 2 outter with arb's. running about 800-900hp 46 claws for racing and 49 play has broke 3 t-cases so sounds like the axles are holding up. He now has the bling OEM knuckles but no r&p trouble broke a ctm shaft back at ttc but thats about it in the axles." Hes up to Atlas 6 now.

its all about trying to get that perfect balance between the diff gears, tire size, and trying to keep the tcase happy. whats the point of having all the money in the world into a couple axles and then insane power, just to keep blowing your **** out on the trail? your not getting anywhere. why not run decently deep gears, a tire thats 39-42", bomb proof axles, and a built atlas and forget about it, at least for awhile.

How about something like these.

rockwell front loader. a little bigger than the c103

why not a c103? it will accept 2" shafts and has a 12" ring gear

Tiny pinion shaft, they aren't as readily available as people think.

if you want knuckles that wont break and can be machined for any shaft..extreme off road in mi has billet inner and outer knuckles that he will custom make for anything.lifetime no questions asked warranty. $1200.00 for 2 knuckles, keyed high steer arms and bolts.
after i saw the video of tc breaking the knuckle i called him and told him to send him a set..

i was just wheeling in canada with scott morris.. he broke atlas # 4 with us.

TC didn't break a knuckle he Broke the Inner C

did anybody think maybe the stop s bottomed on the knuckle or ram overtraveled and broke that inner c just asking :dunno:

Its really simple guys nothing will be lifetime warranty for long if ya break it enough times :****:. And as for doing all you can to make something stronger it only makes something else weaker just part of physics, eventually something has to give.

Funny you did that. I talked to the guy building those other knuckles I talked about and told him to do the same thing.
He said he has put them on hold till mid Dec--1st of the year to work on KOH stuff. I will try and give EORP a call again and see what they can do.

So far looks like Im gunna go with the OEM 2" Inners necked to 40, 2" stubs with Super 8's
Im going with OEMs because I want the beefier joint.
Thought about just necking the stub to 40 as well and run Solids 40 spline spindle and hub but by the time you buy spindles hubs that dont come with bearings ,drive flanges, ect...
the Super 8's aint much more and they include everything plus the 40 spline short stub woulda been the weak link (not a bad thing though)with no flex so the 2" will fix that. Im just held up on knuckles.
