Some of my friends are wanting to hit up Coal Creek OHV in October. I have never been and was just wondering if any of you have. If so, how is it? Is it worth going? I will be taking the RZR :driving:.

I see RZRs rhere all the time. Trail 22 16 3 41 48 49 and maybe even 21 would be some good runnin.

Now these are semi quick ridin trails....no baja 1000 ****.

Stairsteps 15 38 and 39 would be your crawling trails....still see'em on these trails jus a different type of ridin.

Yea...all the connecting gravel roads can get a lil dusty. Try to hook up with some other rzr veterans to get the most of the trails there.

Some of my pics.

I enjoyed riding atv's and jeeps at windrock for a long time. Only complaint I've ever had there is paying full price for passengers to ride. Was up to $17 bucks a head last time I was there a few years ago.

Its still the same...wish it was per vehicle and not per head :(

However me living close and going 20+ times a year.....the 88$ year pass is cheap.

I only live 30 min from there, when are you going? I might be able to lead you around to some good stuff if the timing is right. :dblthumb:

October 19-21 is when we are thinking about going. I have been wanting to try this place out for a long time.

Dangit, that's the weekend of my son's birthday party. But I would just get a trail map at the shack and do the tarils that Tony Bolton said. Really, that's pretty much where I was gonna take you anyways. If you can delay it for one week, you can come ride all day friday, catch the ECORS race on saturday and go wheel some more after it in an area that's not regularly open to weekend wheelers, and wheel some more on sunday! I can go that weekend! :driving:

Re: Re: Coal Creek OHV

Generic thread bump....

I cut in a new hill climb at windrock today. Once it gets ridden a bit it oughta come around as a good climb.

As i.mention in the link below....this section of the mountain has some good potential....hope to cut in s'more!

How do the park's hours work? Open every weekend or only for events? Can I just show up and wheel without making an appointment?

Thanks. Are there pretty much always people there? It's not looking like any of my friends can come and I don't wheel alone. Don't mind meeting new folks though ...

Got any more pics of obstacles besides the ones in the above link? Is everything close to the trailer parking area or is this one of those places where I should bring gas cans?

Well...I don't night wheel, but generally when i go there's always people in the parking lot. Sometimes alot, sometimes just a couple. If you have a CB, you can use Channel 4 which is the station they monitor I do believe. Alot of the good trails are fairly close to the parking area, some of the bad ones are way on the other side, though.

Check out my YOUTUBE page....i've ran just about every trail there and video'd most. Been on Rail Trail a few times but no video and have yet to even see Atomic Ridge...which i've been told to just stay off of because the backside has huge drop off ledges.
