Trip to Harlan.

There is enough room to accommodate a 32' gooseneck in multiple spots. It's a little tricky though. It's worth it though. Mike is the man.

so my 32' tag with crewcab f350 is a no go up there?

The road going up behind the house is pretty creepy the first time if its dark. It feels like you're going to fall through the roof of that house

Just have a good head of steam before the pavement runs out, also don't let off at the first flat spot where the big rock is, just keep shittin' and gettin' until you get to the top.

x2 I let off at the big rock once pulling a 28 foot gooseneck with big chaindrive buggy and my full size Rockwell f150 and thought I was gonna have to unload but I locked in the hubs and mashed on it hard and powered up the rest of the hill :****: :driving:

up on hill my favorite place to stay, everything is secure, no theft troubles. plenty room unload trailer at chevron but gas it and u make it right up hill

Took this pic a few years back so don't know if that number is any good or for all I know it could be the 1 you're calling.

That's the day number. The one in post above is best though. This may have been already posted, I didn't look. He's an elusive SOB

I've stayed on both sides several times, ,, yes evarts is way closer to the trails....... its (15-20)min to middle fork from putney.. To me you can't beat never worrying about the law, ( if your having a cold beer) and they have air, welder, pressure washer, ice, propane refill etc on the Putney, my 0.2c thumb. thumb.gif

Re: Trip to Harlan.

I stayed on Putney side one winter when there was feet of snow on ground and we could not even figure out where the hell we were. Couldn't even find the other side one day and couldn't even make the main trail due to ice at night. Yeah he has a better setup and all but it ain't worth it. But if your a bible beater, at least there is a church on site.

Does anyone know if going to Harlan from the south if taking 40 would be less stress on truck with big load or going to Bowling Green then cutting over?

Yea I bout backed the RATTLER off that cliff one late night ,,,,woulda ended up smashin thru the roof of the store at the bottom
