I have a pretty good deal worked where I can trade my 44"boggers for a set of 49s. I love my boggers down here in ga ridin in the swamps. But I feel like they are holding me back tryin to follow my friends with 43sx when we head north to the rocks.
They will be going on a rear steer Chevy big block Rockwell buggy. I love being able to thrash on mine without having to worry too much but I was hoping the 49s would allow me to grab granny gear an crawl a lot more stuff

Who has made the swap either way??? Do you regret it????pros and cons ???? other than the obvious ?? I feel like if I go with the iroks an completely hate them I shouldn't have a problem trading back down... Thoughts would be appreciated

My boggers was the same way. Slide sideways off of rocks especially when it was wet so I cut them.

Slip do they chunk bad cut like that??? I ran a set of cut boggers on back for while with lil cleats cut out an they chunked pretty bad.
I'm trying to avoid cutting in them if I can

contact mna0121 on here....he has the same set up and made the same tire switch last year. So far i think hes happy with the performance.

Had a Rockwell rig with 49's a few years back. You can bounce over things a little easier, but had to cut them to be able to go in the mud.

Also, getting the right air pressure was a pain for me. That being said, I won the rattle rock race in 2009 with that setup. Rrunning 44" TSL's now and love them.

Re:

I went from 44's to 49's and loved them. Wimpykid is right on the air pressure. I think I ran 5 psi in the front and 4 in the rear. I was running a 16" wide beadlock wheel. What size wheels you running?

All good info guys thanks

I think I'm gone bite the bullet.....tonight at lil bday git together was the nail in the coffin..

From left to right 42" sx 43"sx an my 44"boggers

You could damn near twist the lugs on the tsl an my boggers did what, in essence they were designed to be(stiff paddles)
Guy says the 49s are like new still have tits in places. I report back ....F it if i hatem I will tradem off

You won't hate em just get ready to keep hearing, " man, that thing's a beast". The obvious wheel speed and broken parts will require up grades if you wheel balls out, slow down use your technical skills. These things will cover a hole your 44's drop off in. I pretty much run 8 to 10pounds in mine or whatever they were from the last ride, they have pretty much been maintance free. And I did have the 44's before these

Well...... They are on.
Hope I'm not messing up...boggers are for sale. Gone put them on my 12" beadlocks to try an narrow em up some.
I'll report back with results. Thanks for all the thoughts an comments

Thanks wimpy:)
Muddin I'm scared to cut on em an loose an performance in the rocks... Or am I over thinking it an cutting em will benefit me??

Not too worried about mud...being in south ga that's really all we have so when I'm serious about mud I put on the 56" vtreads u see in my avatar.
I just don't want my friends 43s to make me look stupid in the rocks anymore lol

My boss's s10 leaf sprung junk buggy thing only has a stock 4.3 vortec, th400, and 4.3 atlas and it does just fine crawling with 49 iroks.

If you air em down enough they'll pretty much swallow/envelope any normal trail obstacle.

I think I'd have went to 43 SX stickies instead for best rock performance. Of course they are $$$$

Well that's what in trying to compete with... I gave 1200$ for tires an wheels:). I just don't have the funds to buy a set of 43s right now. But yes the 43s are the **** hands down

Gottem swapped to the 12" beadlocks they narrowed up a good bit...

Thanks Neal

Technician when you gone update that build??? I need ta know if I need to be worried about Ryan new ride or not ... :****:
Not tooo worried about the fj that 4bt ain't got enough whoopaw
