I'd like to introduce myself. I'm Steve, the owner of the Harlan Co. Campground - Putney Trailhead.

I began this business with my father back in 2005 and have been growing as we can afford ever since.

Currently we have 10 cabins that range from small cabins with kitchenettes & bathroom/shower facilities to full luxury chalets with king beds, flat screens and hot tubs.

We also have 20 RV/Elec hook-ups with 50 & 30 amp sites as well as a dumping station.

In addition to this we have over 20 acres of primitive camping (some secluded in the mountains) as well as TWO shower houses, and most recently we built a 24 x32 pavilion which can seat up to 50.

In my tool shop I have welders (both stick and MIG) as well as torches and plasma cutters available for my customers to use as well as a on-site propane refill station and 175 psi air compressor.

We're located directly on the trailhead and it's only a 1.5 mile trail ride from any cabin, rv site, or camping area to reach middle fork playground and only a 4 mile trail-ride to reach downtown Evarts.

We're only 8 miles via the highway (55 mph all the way) from downtown Harlan.

Do you have anything available for the weekend of October 10-12th?

Sorry, just RV/tent sites are available.

I updated and added a link to our website - you can view interior/exterior pics of the cabins as well as check availability on any cabin online.

I will definitely look into one of these for next years trip. :dblthumb:

We stayed here a few years back for our trip to Harlan. I'm not sure why we chose Putney side over Evarts, but we were very happy with the campground. Hospitality was great and we were really thankful for the use of the welder when my rear locker went out. We welded it up that night and were back on the trails the next morning. We typically bring plenty of food and extra fuel with us, but I think I remember having to make a trip to a grocery store and it wasn't too far away.

We alway stay there when we go to Harlan. Great place to stay with graveled rv sites and several cabins. Right at the trailhead. Brand new bath house went in a couple of years ago. I've tried the other side, but like the Putney side much better. Just made some Oct reservations there this morning.

Welcome to Harlan. Even though we are committed this trip, I will try to drive by and check the place out. Welcome to Hardline.

Looks like u were booked up October 24 25??? Right??? Heard you have a nice place

Any improvements to the trail head..... we stayed there a few years back the trailhead towards the top had some steep switchbacks and steep climbs... not that I have a problem but seems like it would be pretty challenging when wet for certain rigs... especially going down!

Re:

We've stayed here the past 2 years we've gone and we booked one last year for this year. We've always been really happy with this place. Super nice accommodations and even nicer people that run it.

That was a fun trail. Trail 45 IIRC. The last time we were up there it had been closed (I think it washed off the mtn) and there was a much easier (like 2wd) trail to the top.

Trail was maintained just last month, it's in great shape - bone stock vehicles been riding it wet dry etc no problem.

Sounds great...we'll definitely be staying there next time...thanks for taking the time to share more information about your location with us!
