Taking pride in being white is racist... Everyone knows that. Taking pride in race period is ignorant.

IMO there is no pride in race... It's not like any of us chose to be white, or by the mere fact of being white makes a person inherently "better" or "different" in any way other than physically...

Now taking pride in heritage/history/accomplishment is a different story.

White power. I don't know why or how it started but people are screaming it regularly at the top of their lungs constantly now.

At the "biggest wheelin party of the year" 3 ? years ago, there was a guy yelling "white flour" and throwing flour in the air... It quickly transitioned to a few in the crowd yelling "white power"...

That's my observation on the topic.

First time I'd heard people openly yelling white power.

No. Everyone was yelling it at one of the SRS events at Hawk Pride this year. The white flour thing was why I asked John about it but he confirmed that they were in fact yelling white power. About 20 different guys.

But if what ya'll are talking about is even worse its got me wondering ...

Popular opinion or not I agree with what John is doing/trying to accomplish with this thread.

With that said.....I honestly believe that it is the attitude or demeanor of the person no matter what race that makes this what it is. I also have been asked several times by a couple of black friends when we have said something about coming to an event/ride "Are you sure a black man can goto these events?" I always tell them the same thing. "It is no different than being in public. Sure you may hear something that doesn't sit well with you but hell how many of the same people black/white/mexican/whatever don't stand at the bottom of the hill talking about dumbass rednecks and such?" That is what I mean by the attitude/demeanor of the person plays the biggest part. A not so good example but all the same was we was watching videos of a race/event at work and the whole phrase (that was brought up earlier) was plainly heard many times. A black guy I worked with while watching the video laughed his ass off and said "white power is right look at that white bitch go". His demeanor/attitude was that the buggy was powdered white and had a powerful motor. I won't lie all of us kinda looked at each other and was wondering where it was going when he said that but he was laughing and having a good time. So at this point if anyone was being racist it was us with our thoughts not him.

My second point on the same subject is if any of you have ever been to Wheelin and met Anthony (big black) you know what I mean. He could care less about what is going on and all this stupid race stuff. His demeanor/attitude has always been much better than 90% of the other people there.

We all know no matter how we feel that IF some of the post made here got out it would greatly effect this forum as well as our sport/hobby. Sometimes for the better good is time to make small changes to grow and move forward. Thanks JohnG for all your time and dedication to this forum.

I think, that the words "redneck" or "white trash" should be racist if it comes out of any one mouth other than a white person. They can call each other :afro:, but if we do it, its racist. What's the difference?

I've seen and posted the word "******" a lot. But I have clarified and so have others that it is not a color deal but a lifestyle. Just sucks most of them are black. It's like people with tattoo's - everyone in prison has tattoo's, not all tattooed people are

So I go to work for half a day today. I go to my grandmothers for a Christmas lunch. I leave said lunch and go to check my game cameras (where I have no service). I'm on my way home and I hit a spot with service. I literally get 17 texts divided between 4 people. I am told non swimming democrats have taken over HL, somebody secretly loves the dark meat, everybody slipped fell and got sand in their va-jay jay, and there is a thread calling me out and putting me on the spot.

So anybody seen such thread?
