So I go to work for half a day today. I go to my grandmothers for a Christmas lunch. I leave said lunch and go to check my game cameras (where I have no service). I'm on my way home and I hit a spot with service. I literally get 17 texts divided between 4 people. I am told non swimming democrats have taken over HL, somebody secretly loves the dark meat, everybody slipped fell and got sand in their va-jay jay, and there is a thread calling me out and putting me on the spot.



So anybody seen such thread?

Taking pride in being white is racist... Everyone knows that. Taking pride in race period is ignorant.

IMO there is no pride in race... It's not like any of us chose to be white, or by the mere fact of being white makes a person inherently "better" or "different" in any way other than physically...


Now taking pride in heritage/history/accomplishment is a different story.

I could care less what color I am.

I think you are right in doing this, maybe I should be banned also for kind of starting it all. (Although I don't feel like my analogy in that Dynamite thread was that far off.) I've always felt that the :afro: smiley itself was kind of worse than the word. To me it was like saying "Here's a stereotypical pic of the word I am too chicken-**** to say directly." I got tired of people using it and thinking it was OK so I just started using the word since, if a pic is OK, the word should be too. Why not just ban the word and the pic? I've always felt that some people here are hypocrites. You have Jesus freaks here posting porn. People buying shirts and stuff that are anti-hate and then posting 17 pages of pure hate. People who say they aren't racist and then using the :afro: every time they mean the n-word but are afraid to say it. My use of a racial analogy was a passive-aggressive attempt at bringing some of this out to the forefront using a topic that I knew would be sensitive. Maybe it was in bad taste and I apologize if so. But I do think you are doing the right thing.

To me the word" ****** "isn't connected to a skin color. It may be to some but not me. I run into more light skinned ones than I do dark. It's the actions and attitude you have toward others that make a "******" in my book. I will say I wasn't raised to be any different than the next person or to think I was better than a poor man or a rich man but the older I get the more racist I see myself becoming. I'm not saying I like that feeling but the world today is pretty much making me feel like I need to pick a side. On the same note just wait and see what happens at the big events when the dark skins start showing up. In the beginning they'll only be a few and you won't see anything out of the ordinary. Then wait till there friends bring there friends and so on then **** will start going down hill fast. This is just my opinion but after rereading this maybe I'm a little more racist than I thought.

Out of the thousands I've met, there are only 2 I'd die for. In the Army they give you the talk about one color, but in MY personal experience, the VAST majority were only out for themselves or a cushy .gov job. The rest I would NOT fall on a grenade for.

My wife is (if you believe it) a conservative hippie. She introduced me to a black couple, in thier late 60's, at the horse races a few years back. The woman is an RN, the husband is retired from Alcoa Aluminum. He got bored after a year and went back to work. I firmly believe that they are the last of a dying breed. The ones coming up behind them (white and brown too) are coddled by the .gov so much, they are useless to productive society, thus useless to me. My hatred of this moocher class (not race) of people I will not apolegize for. I do love this board however, so I will try and watch what I post in the future.

My best friend is a black guy. Been one of my best friends since second grade. We grew up in a very racist town. His family transferred here with a Chrysler plant from Detroit. his father is a minister now, billy is too. He is also a state trooper. His brother is on e the local pd, and also works a second job at the county jail so I
His wife can be a stay at home mom. They are the nicest, hardest working family you will ever meet. They hate Obama, and everything the .gov has done to keep the stereotype alive that they work so hard to get away from. Some of the stuff I read on here makes me cringe, but I can't say I always disagree, and neither would billy nor his family. I come from Ohio though,pretty sure our history and beliefs up here are a little different than they are down there. Bill refers to me as cracker ass hillbilly all the time, and like to yell yee-haw every chance he gets when my truck or buggy is in site. One of these days I'm going to take him wheeling with me and show him what a bunch of backwoods white boy hillbillys do for fun.

I will say though, ya'll are tame compared to our family from up around Detroit. You want to here some racist ****, talk to someone from detroit. It doesn't get any worse than that.

Also think about having your names and towns on your sig, as said before Google is powerful. One of my best friends is black and drives a truck with a Confederate flag on it I do t care about skin color it's the contents of your heart.

I agree with what John is doing and while I don't fit in with the touch feely new world crap somethings from the past need to stay their. This is a damn good site and I would hate to see anything bad come to it and I would say the majority of the guys standing on both legs, one leg, or none at all are great fellers.
