So I've been helping a buddy, let me rephrase that.. So I've been trying to help a buddy, that is hardheaded and will not listen to a dam word anyone says. That's a different story, Here's what I have noticed when going to look at different crawlers for sale. We went and looked at two different rigs.. And I'll be dammed if BOTH of the dam turds werent the baddest, climb anything, go Anywhere, toughest; unbreakable, etc etc somebitches to ever be built. No kidding, both times that's all I heard. And looking back, when we purchased my turd, The guy said the same thing.. And for a brief moment I believed him, until I got home and unloaded it.. I drove it around for about five minutes, loaded it back up, and took it to my brother-in-law's where we cut everything off of it. And completely rebuilt everything except for the drivetrain. Which has been upgraded since.. Seeing how most of you have much more experience I was going to ask is this typical? Is this just how most morons try to sell their ****?? I stood there yesterday and listen to about an hour of complete ****ing bullshit. I even called him out on a few things, I couldn't take it anymore! I heard it all, from going up boat ramp like it was nothing with TSL's, to being Randall keys good buddy, and driving "blaze" around while Randall drove his colworx buggy he just sold on Hardline for 60K, (pretty sure he did not realize that I kept up with the classifieds). Seeing how I have never went and looked to buy many rigs, is this the normal **** Ya hear when looking at 4-5000 dollar rigs!?? I actually started to get irritated at the Fukin fairytails yesterday. My god man, ok some of what he said may be true. But he was so full of **** it was just to much. After me telling my buddy "man don't buy **** off craigslist, get on HL and look" we ended up gettin a Sammy yesterday.. That supposedly Scott's pics built.. The cage work was actually good, and for 4k I think it was an ok deal. Have to keep in mind he wanted a "turn key" not a "turn wrench". With that budget i knew we were limited to what he could get, but after a hour of nonsense i was almost willing to give 4000 to leave!!! Just wanted to ask, because every single rig I have looked at was 100% Untouchable.. Just thoght it was funny. I wish I would have recorded all the **** talking.. Shesssh. Which makes me wonder, does a liar tell whoppers knowin his **** ain't what he's saying? Or do Yall think he reallY believes this? And anyone seen a orange jeep, tube frame by colworx, on here that sold really quick for 60,000??? Bahaha :wtflol:

Man you are 100% right about this. When I bought my buggy it was supposed to be ready to go. HAHA!! It was far from that... I ended up doing what it sounds like you did and pretty much had to re-do the whole buggy!!

Everyone thinks their **** is the baddest. I can't tell you how many times white trash mother ****ers walk up to me at gas stations with my buggy on the trailer and tell me about how their lifted z71 could follow my buggy anywhere. Or about how their cousin's uncle-in-law's best friend built a Jeep once that could stomp my buggy's ass. I normally just play along and say it must be one bad MF'er, they should bring it out, the more the merrier. A lot of them tell me how their junk can make it through any mud hole. I'm like, "Sweet, I'll bring my buggy back to the shop, park it, grab my Honda Accord, drive out and watch ya'll because my **** doesn't ****ing touch mud holes." I would be afraid that some of their stupid would get in the water and then infect me!

I will say that most people don't really want someone else's ideal though. What they really want is their own custom-fabbed rig without the work or price. That's why I could never buy something pre-built. There would be a million things I would want to change about it the instant I got it home. I think if you're really in the market for a used rig you shouldn't be looking for many specifics. You should just be looking for quality fab that doesn't look like its going to kill you and has a foundation that is workable for what you want to do with it.

Re:

Yep I have had the same experience that's why I started from scratch this time also everyone's defanition of trail ready is diffrent

My experience has been that you need to call them out on **** or they'll never shut up. Even that only works half the time, the others are too dumb to realize that the jig is up and keep going or wanna fight. But yes, when they're for sale, everybody's rig is 4x4jesus and just floats over everything...

Re:

I am the exact opposite. I'll tell you every thing that is wrong and shitty about the rig I'm selling lol.

I've never been able to buy a $3-5000 rig that I was happy with, or that I didn't feel needed a lot of stuff added or fixed... And I've bought a few. Toyotas, one ton Ranger, samurai.

I get a kick out of the gas station rednecks... But **** gets old, so for the most part I just fill up my **** from gas jugs before I leave the house. Getting diesel I'll go to the semi truck pumps since I'm pulling a 34'.

I've also found that by not painting or washing my rig, it draws less attention, because they assume that my junk is actually junk!

I don't know why people have to be so full of ****. There is a **** stick that lives down the road from me that I loathe, but thats a different story. He stopped by the other day because I forgot to shut the gate on the driveway after I came in. He stayed and told lie after lie after lie for way to ****ing long. He showed me pics of his k10 truck that he got that had a dana 60 swapped and bla bla bla. I'm not sure if he just isn't smart enough to realize that everything at my garage has a dana 60 in the front and I know how many lug nuts they have, but his pic only had 6. Maybe he thought I wouldn't catch it. Who knows. He proceeds to tell me about the bad ass 500 horsepower small block it has and all the crap I truly don't care about. I was just sitting there kicking my own ass for not pushing the little button on my visor that makes the idiot barrier close at the end of the driveway as I drove in. I know it works because that was the first thing he said when he showed up is "I can never catch the gate open to stop by". ****in A it's doing it's job. I cannot stand a dumb ass that tells lies for whatever reason. Maybe his mommy or daddy love his sister more or whatever, but I run into this scenario with almost everything. It doesn't matter if you are buying a Geo ****in metro, its gonna fly or run a 1/4 mile in 8.2 seconds or some ****. It's just this dumbed down world of retards we live in.

Good I was worried. I can say that the cage is good. It runs good. Here's the best. It was black or a dark color when he bought it. Watched a video of it on v notch and it was NOT orange.

After he told us that "superman" built it 5 times .. I finally looked at him and said "who the FAWK is superman?" After he started explaining who it was I realized he was talking about Scott. I was hoping and praying that is who is was talking about. Because I know Scott, and I know he knows his ****.

Not too sure why I believed him on that one comment. I guess because of the work on the cage is actually pretty good. The good news is it will go anywhere and follow anyone. But the best news.. It's unbreakable you just can't break it. Dana 44 front 12 bolt rear.

when I bought my hunk of crap. guy told me same thing it was unbreakable. went all over grayrock blahh blahh first trip out snapped front driveshaft and broke bolts on high steer arms. broke that front drive shaft 4 times till I lost it one night in the woods. then built another ain't broke yet.

There was a white TJ or YJ on here a while back that im not sure if it sold or not but it was built by coleworx I believe.

Oh believe me it was orange.. He showed me pictures That he conveniently had yesterday but did not have any pictures when my buddy looked at it the first time. I swear on everything that I've ever had, I will never understand the point of lying. I have never been a liar, I can't look one in the eye and lie unless your place officer. But this guy must live his whole entire life lyin for no dam reason. He told me at the signmaking party at Choco, (and I do remember him) that he had $24,000 cash in a ammo box, and was really considering walking over and offering me 24 grand for my rig !!! Hahahah!!! God they just went on and on!!

Idiots are going to be idiots, every time I have mine on the trailer someone somewhere will make a comment, " Ya I got a blazer with a big block and 45" swampers" or some kind of part, tire that doesn't exist.
Can't fix stupid :****:

Coleworx definitely has not built a white tj or yj. The only orange jeep that was built there was for Jeff mason and it was sold about 5 years ago and has been out west since mr. Mason sold it.
