How much more than a dana 44 do you have?

Fawk I don't know...it's not like I go around with a tape measure and measure this ****.

Ya I got those too. Just can't get the knuckles yet.:booo:
I'll probably run the v1's. Can't wait to get everything to do it. The pics of the rear housing. Got my 35 spline ARB, just need the carrier and knuckles. YIPEE

centerline of the dif to the lowest point of the housing is 5.5", the CRD 60's sitting here are 6.125" cl to lowest point, don't know about the others.

But wait until you to add your unit hubs to that price. Ouch.

Umm, Ford unit bearing hubs can be had for about $250 a side, compare that to a new wheel hub, spindle and bearings for the old style 60...

For someone freestyle driving a buggy with 40+ inch tires i want 1 question answered. Does a unit bearing hub use 6 studs???

The stock Ford unit bearings hubs come 8 lug on a metric pattern...I had mine re-drilled 8 on 6.5" but the ones from spidertrax are available 6 or 5 lug as they turn them down and re-drill the holes.

If you are talking about the mounting studs of the bearing to the outer knuckle that is 4 studs.

And I can tell you 1st hand driving a V8 powered, low geared (158:1) with 39" sticky Krawlers the bearings and studs hold up just fine...but I seem to loosen up balljoints every 6 months or so.

I can pretty much guarantee that my rear 9" has a hell of alot more clearance than any 60 on the market

I can guarantee my 9's have waaay more clearance than a prorock does. Now I just need a car to put them in:mad:

I had two different 609's...one pass and one driver drop.We took the parts off/out of the driver to make the pass for the last car.The unit bearing was redrilled 6 on 5.5.I never had one lick of problems with the unit bearing assembly itself or the four bolts holding the bearing assembly to the outer knuckle.Broke lots of joints and that lead to other drama.
now that you can buy off the shelf parts and not have to machine custom new parts it seems alot more user friendly.
