    Ford connectors/terminal.

Crash, go to Bickford in snohomish. For a while Bickford had the retail parts counter shut down due to a building remodel. The retail customers had to go back to the service department parts counter. On the wall at the service department counter was a huge poster with pictures of the commmon...

tuning a cb radio without swr meter

Yea...You cant tune it if you have no meter to tune to. How about simply not tuning it. If you've hooked it up using normal parts and practices its gonna work. Certainly tuning it will make it as efficent as possible. If you have a short circuit in the antenna it wont transmit.

    CB Radio's

I have two Uniden 520XL's. They're cheep 60 bucks and have been reliable. The key thing to remember is that a vehicle is a HORRIBLE platform for a radio station. There is a ton of radio interference from wiring, ignition and mostly the electronic fuel pump. All the installation tips you...

Which joint is best with DD

I have Rubicon Express Superflex joints on front and rear controll arms. (The Superflex are pretty much the same thing as a Johnny Joint.) With 3000 miles these joints are still tight: some remain so tight they wont take grease yet. Definitely a high quality, long wearing joint. Got my...

    Compressor (I want one)

What ever you do DONT get a diaphram/vibrator pump compressor. A 2-3 horse will run a media cabinet OK with a stop here and there for the pump to catch up.

    floor jack welder ???

Matt bit on the welder, I'll bite on the jack: Those little 2-1/2 to 3 ton floor jacks are actually pretty good for lifting a Jeep or Toyota. I would recomend you invest heavily in wooden blocks. Not 2x4 stuff but ends cut from 6x6's, 8x12's and so on. When you need to lift your rig put one...

    Strut Compressor Alternative?

Most all rental shops rent spring compressors. I've heard that Pep Boys will loan a tool for no charge with a deposit. You can just about buy a set at Harbor freight for 50 bucks.

tj or yj im am in a rutt. please help pull me out

Sooooo.... Just to answer the TJ Vs YJ debate only. Here are a couple basic facts (challenges invited as this is a good question). 1) On the highway a lifted YJ is outright scary to drive. A lifted TJ won't handle perfectly but feels much safer and more controlled. (Jeeps became every day...

For good pricing: Costco has had some good deals on rollaways, also look at Grizzly Industrial in Bellingham. Grizzly has a webcatalog.

    ***Warn Winch Expert Wanted***

Sorry man, its worth nothing. Luck for you however, I'm on my way to the dump; I'll swing by, pick it up and throw it away for you. :D Seriously though. Many people feel the 8274 is THE best winch ever made. It probably worth 500 bones. Not sure what you mean by the "controller box"...

    Looking at buying a JD2

JD squared is the top of the line. Don't spend the money on the degree ring and don't spend your money on the hydraulic power kit, you really don't need them. The bender (frame and die holder) is actually the cheap part. It's the dies that will kill you as each differant bend radius and...

    ATK High Performance Engines??

You might want to think about simply replacing it with a stock 4.0 liter. Its a damn good engine. That basic engine has been around since 1964 and was first used in Ramblers. You start going bigger (as in V8) and you will start breaking stuff. Hell, with your stock engine you can break...

    Sealing electrical splices

Find someone who hasn't had to fix one of those crappy splices laying on their back, in the mud, under a camp trailer a 100 miles from home at 3:00 AM cause the running lights went and all you want to do is get to your camp site. :haha:

    Sealing electrical splices

Those look like aircraft moisture proof splices. Only differance is on A/P's the metal splice barrel is crimped not soldered. The shrink sleeve is pretty much identical. I've found that over the years on cars, trucks and trailers that if the joint is soldered you'll never have a problem with...

    Band saw question

WOW, cool saw. I'll bet that saw is worth $10,000 used.

    Band saw question

Its all based on the blade. The manufacturer of the blade will have very specific foot per minute speed callouts. Too fast and the blade teeth will overheat and the blade goes soft. I've ruined new blades in just a few seconds by getting them too hot. Look on the internet or stop by...

    Band saw question

I converted a Grizzly wood band saw to a steel cutting saw about 20 years ago and still works great. It was a fair amount of work but I couldn't afford a metal saw at the time. (Couple of pics for ya': Purple base is gay now but in 1985 purple was cool !) Go for it, it will work. Just be...
