    tired of stiff ride

Ya, it's the progressive pack with dual Bilsteins in the front and singles in the rear. You might have better luck with a shorter lift i guess. There is just so much arch in an 8" spring i don't know how anybody could make one ride good.

    tired of stiff ride

I have a 99 superduty with an 8" donahoe (Icon now) lift and bilsteins. Rides like ****! But the wife thinks it's cool so i'm stuck with it.

    ford or dodge

That may be the case, but if so, there is something wrong with both of them. We actually ran twins from Newport Arkansas to Washington. I was hoping they would liven up a bit by the time we got home, but no luck. On the positive side, we got to see the country one fuel station at a time! I...

    ford or dodge

Just drove 2000 miles in a 6.7 powerstroked ambulance, got 8.5 mpg average. Rigs weigh about 11.5k. Didn't have any balls at all. I was very disappointed with the performance and mileage. This thing is suppose to be 400hp, but it felt more like an unmodified 7.3 Not worth the 50,000 price tag...

    Diesel or Gas???

Sweet ride. You'll love that truck. Save a little money and get a better chip if you can, the superchip is pretty low on the tuner food chain. Congrats man!

Got a question for ford owners??

White Trash, you must be new to the diesel world cause your opinion is the same as mine. We are obviously retarded. :stirpot:

Got a question for ford owners??

Yep, no clue! 6.0's and autos rock!

Got a question for ford owners??

Auto trannies have no place in a truck anyway, so to me the auto tranny issues are of no concern. The 6.0 does make more power stock, yes. Now take the money you would spend on the 6.0 to make it reliable and mod the 7.3, power is now equal or slightly better in the 7.3 Unless your building...

Got a question for ford owners??

Ford didn't offer a diesel from 03 to 07.... That should pretty much give you my opinion of the 6.0 Take the money your gonna waste on the 6.0 and get an older 99-02. The 7.3 was a far more reliable engine, and you can work on it at home if you need to. (without pulling the cab and front clip)

    Diesel or Gas???

Gas or Diesel Pretty simple, if you plan on keeping it a long time, go diesel. The gassers are cheaper to start with but a new engine at 200,000 miles will make up the difference. Yes, I know someone will chime in with the 500,000 mile gas engine that has pulled a million pounds all it's life...

    Reman injectors

Injectors Spend the 80 bucks and put the new updated o-rings on your injectors before you reinstall them. Once you get it running, run it with the valve covers off and make sure there is oil "pulsing" out of the oil return spouts. Oil flow isn't a guarantee, but it generally shows the injectors...

    Diesel Work Truck questions

Work Truck I don't know the D-max very well, but I do know the Fords. 99-early03 is the range to look at. The 7.3 is great but i am not a big fan of the 4r100. It is better than the E4OD was, but they still aren't that tuff. I would look for a 7.3 with a 6 speed manual, that is the best combo...

    Fords PSD vs Dodes Cummins..

400 hp Injectors for the Powerstroke are expensive, if you buy them done. I can build 240+ cc hybrid injectors for $1500, throw on a good Wildman tune for $350, an intake for $40, and a 5" exhaust for $150. That combo will produce 400 hp numbers and it is still at the $2000 mark also. The same...

    Fords PSD vs Dodes Cummins..

400 Hp It typically will take, injectors, pump mods and turbo upgrades to get to 400hp. The only difference is the powerstroke needs a Good custom tune, since they never made a non electronic stroke. That will add around 400 bucks to the stroke total. There is a lot of variables as you go...

    Fords PSD vs Dodes Cummins..

IDI Sound White Trash, I agree 100% about the sound of the IDI's being better. Mine sounds sweet between the turbo and the 5" straight pipe. This thread brings up a lot of good points about all engines mentioned. I was raised and will always be a Ford guy, but I will also be the first to admit...
