    Some tow rig lovin

Question Crash When you installed the FASS where did you install the fuel line pressure sensor? It does not look like you put it on the pump? Thanks

Tire pressure when driving on packed snow

OK ... I know running low preassure in the soft snow is what you do to keep the rig on top but what about on packed snow. Does low preassure on packed snow give you better traction or does the increased surface area make it easier for the rig to slide around. Let's hear it.

    Snatch block placement

Something else to remember. Never use a SB with rope that has previously been used with cable. The pully gets burrs on it from the cable which will damage a rope.

    Snatch block placement

I carry one SB in the rig and have used it on occasion to get my self out of a jamb not to mention trail work. As for increasing your mechanical advatage I agree that you need to be very aware of how you use the SB as you can over load you line quickly. Knowing how much your winch can pull on...

    Dash Pillars for rollcage

Sorry for pulling up an old thread but as it was a topic of late I thought it would be good to actually see pics of Tracy's Jeep after the roll. Note that it was not the dash supports that failed but how they were attached to the dash. Just the same I agree with the majority that I would rather...

    Steering System for an XJ/TJ

My 2 Cents .. Build what you need from parts that a very common and beefy. I have been thinking about this for awhile and Chevy one ton ends do fit that discription. Besides if you find your self in the middle of no where you can steel a tie rod from either Tom or Karl's truck. :D

Parts needed at the outlet mall now!

Glad that someone had the part and people were able to get out of the woods OK. Help me though.. I am trying to figure out what broke but my understanding of what a part is called is getting in that way. I thought a king pin was only found on something like an I-beam front axle such as those...

    winch rope?

So once you get the rope how are you splicing it back two feet to make the loop required for the thimble? Do people have the jibs and pushers needed to do this right? Rudi

    Alright TJ guys.

Oh do not get me wrong. I am not putting any more into the 8.8. There is a 9" sitting on the floor in the garage that I have to finish and put in when ready. The 8.8 is working for now though so I am not in a hurry at the moment. :D

    Alright TJ guys.

Who makes a C-Clip eliminator for the 8.8. Warn was the only one I found but they discontinued that a few years ago. With the continued support for the 9", even after production of that axle has stopped, I belive that it is good option. Really the only down side to running a 9" that I can think...

    Alright TJ guys.

I have a 97 Explorer 8.8 with Disc and it has done ok by me but I wish that I had done it right the first time by getting a 9". You just have way more options with a 9" than you do with an 8.8.
