    Tahuya 2-28-09

i know which one your thinking of, i'd take a bike or quad up it. but i've been riding steep loose climbs from glamis to cinder hills for years. $100 hill at cinders is 800ft up and about as steep or steeper as the hill you are talking, except it's ash and loose cinders. the other trail peaked...

no, not the one that is right after the no bikes sign. A dirtbike can take a lot steeper climbs than a 4x4 in loose dirt... there's a rock pile, then to the right of the rockpile and no motorcycle sign is the bypass trail and looking further right beyond that, with no direct junction from that...

all i can say is great job guys! we rode the quads out that way and walked in to take a look. definatly not the same, several hill climbs and one set of rocks that are fairly sunk in now! also noticed another trail looking to the right of the no motorcycle sign in the hill. is that come from...

    Concerning Reiter--up and coming.

they have bikes and a small truck if i'm not mistaken patroling reiter. if it's the sheriffs department i'm a little less worried. The staters tend to be the jerks while the sheriffs department out there I've had little to no problems with slight discrepancies. Tubed buggy is obviously not legal...

    Concerning Reiter--up and coming.

sultan was assimilated into the the sheriffs department, the sheriffs department has always dealt with goldbar as far as i can remember.

    Concerning Reiter--up and coming.

so will it mainly be the snohomish county sheriffs department? or the state patrol? i'll guess that it is the sheriffs department, i'd rather deal with the local sheriffs department.

    Concerning Reiter--up and coming.

don't know which trail you were talking about i was refering to the access trail to the road above the rockface, that is between the poop shoot and stair step, so that horus didn't have to go down stair step... that has been there for at least 16 years since i started going to reiter.

    Concerning Reiter--up and coming.

the red line is the hardly used trail, that could be looked at to see if it could be widened to fit jeeps and toyotas.

    Concerning Reiter--up and coming.

there's an exit trail between stair step and poop shoot, not that it's a lot easier.

    Concerning Reiter--up and coming.

did an alternate route ever get worked out? i'm not going to wade through 18 pages of bs in all the posts. there is an old ATV trail, that appeared to be repunched through last season, or at least the blackberry bushes were finally trimed back that accesses that trail 142 from the parking lot...

gee... what happened at Bangor? well, living in Sultan, there is no reason to go to tahuya unless you ride dirtbikes. :haha:
