06 dodge 3500 tranny

So whY's the easiest wAy to tell what auto tranny is in it. It's a 06 dodge diesel srw 3500 with over drive and the tow drive or what ever u want to call it

only offered a 48re for 06 as far as I know... The newer model didn't get released till 07 and the previous model (47re) lasted till 03, maybe 04

ok because i called napa to get a filter kit and they said there were two trannys and i needed to know what one it was
