got started on the chop... just need to figure out my fuel tank.. and finish roughing in the cab back. its been a long day.. but atleast its starting to look how i want. by the way this is the first time ive ever done body work, so dont expect pretty on this one, its just to get me by until i get a crew cab to put on it. then it will look how i really want it.

here are some pics:

im getting a 4" lift this week hopefully, then it will look alot better. i can run my swampers up front because they arent balanced, and im not wasting the money to balance them. more to come towards the end of the week.

this is what i started with...

I swear I saw your burb on Broadway in everett month ago. I was looking at the rear doors and how messed up they were.

i think it will be a cool rig when fiished:cheer:

its far from finished, but i did pick up a 6" lift tonight for it!! im stoked!!

so right after this pic the tranny went out.

since then ive moved to arlington, i finally have my own garage!!!, and just recently wired the 220 for my welder. i have also chopped the frame and recessed the tank up in the "bed". I am hoping to get a donor blazer today for my tranny and rear peices, i will part out the rest.

here is a pic of the back (gas tank is recessed now though)

i need to get moving on this bc i am doing a 351w swap in my 89 notch mustang so i need the open bay to move around. after that i am redoing the rear cap and adding the rear bumper including relocating the rear shackle mounts. i also have on board air to add. im super stoked, hopefully hitting a trail by the end of the month

just picked up a 700r4/208 im about to install it now.. im f'n stoked my truck hasnt been running for quite a few months!

its alive!!!! just pulled her out of the garage, a few small things and she is road worthy an trail ready!! woot woot

so much for driving... took it out, 2 miles down the road my drive shaft u joint came apart. on a 2 lane highway. a nice sherriff was kind enough to escort me to the nearest abondoned house with a nice u-driveway that i could be pushed into.

so now i am getting thrown in to my next mod. since i need a driveshaft repaired, i might as well get it lengthened too. I have 56" rear springs and i dont like how close my rear tires are to the cab, so i am reversing the leafs so i extend my wheelbase 4"s while keeping my frame shortened. I think that will give it a nice look. Im also going to weld my rear bumper on.

I did get my rear LED trailer lights mounted however they dont put enough load on the flasher to make it blink for the turns. I might put a resistor in line.

anyone on here do driveshafts? i thought i might just lengthen it myself, but i dont know what i would do for balancing, can i take it to a shop just to balance? idk if thats possible.

well while typing this i called a driveshaft place here in marysville. He suggested a 2 piece drive shaft. My thinking to save money, since i have an extra front driveshaft is to use the one i have, install a carrier bearing and shorten my existing rear to finish it. any thoughts on it?

rear tail is getting tacked on.. i am also redoing the cab so the sliding rear window fits that i have.

got more done today.

i untacked the rear cap cause it was too mega cab like and i hated it. so i got some measurements (thanks guys) and started cutting some more.

turning out to be just like a 4 door k5 blazer, im liking it!

next up is to finish the tacking and filling, then notch the frame to accept the bumper, followed by making rear shackle mounts off that bumper and reversing the shackle, hoping to get rid of that rear sag. I am also fabbing the frame for a can-back for it.

after that i am attacking this BS turning issue, seems it doesnt want to go lock to lock and i did install a drop pitman arm.

pics

i still have to cut the roof and a lil over hang
