Why would you fill the knuckle up with 2lbs of grease ???

Is it just a backup to keep water & dirt out ....:eeek: Seems real messy to do and especially if you had to pull apart again.....

That is the grease storage area in case you need to repack the wheel bearings in BFE. :haha:

The original design calls for grease to be filled in the knuckle to keep the OLD exposed axle joints lubed properly.

The axles have been upgraded a couple times since the 50s.

The first series came with a funky hinged ball thing kinda like an impact wobbly.

The second series had an improved "ball and claw" or some folks call it a 5 ball also. It looks like and axle missing the ujoint and with 5 balls in place of the joint.

The third design had either a Ujoint axle or a birfield axle inside.

All designs except the ujoint require grease to keep lubed.

The ujoint axles dont need to be packed in grease.

The magazines just wants to suck the grease MFGers cock is why they are using it.

and manuals, well nobody reads that **** anyways.

Chop that is exactly what I thought.....I just could not see a reason for it when I put mine back together, but thought I would ask just incase....:redneck:
