2012 escalade trailer brakes

Does anyone know if there is a way to manually activate the factory trailer brakes on a 2012 cadillac escalade?

Yup. The brakes on the trailer I picked up yesterday worked on my friends dodge, but weren't working with my 1 ton. Planning on using the cadillac on thursday to tow my truck, but I won't do it if three trailer brakes aren't working.

I don't even see a factory option for it...

Weird. It does have a factory tow package, and a factory 7 round connector. Apparently it only works if the transmission is in tow mode.

At least, that's what I'm told. I haven't had a chance to double check yet.

Its just wired for it. You still have to add your own trailer brake module.:beer:

a lot of the GM rigs that had the factory tow package included the wiring harness plug to connect from the junction box to the aftermarket brake controller...

my truck had the wire harness piece stored in the same area as the jack...

but I still had to buy and add in the controller...

Just confirmed it with the cadillac dealer. It has to be special ordered with the controller. Thanks guys. Kind of a bummer, I was looking forward to pimping the cadillac up to reiter. :booo:
