I was wanting to know if I could put a chevy np205 onto a dodge np435. I can seem to find any adaptors kits for it. It has a Dana 20 in it now but I keep braking the low range gears out. I've broke two Dana 20 so far but only on the low range. It chips the gear teeth and it keeps jumping out. So I was wanting to put in a 205 that I had in the shop. Oh I'm trying to do it on the cheap too. I'm running chevy axles and have chevy yokes on the Dana 20 also.

Didn't offer 205 on a 435. I got a dodge 4x4 435 on and ih Dana 20 I want to say it's a 6 splin but they offered them in a 10 also. I'm gonna have to pull it and look again.

Will a Saginaw bolt in place of that new process? If it is the same for bolt pattern and depth that might be the way to go

I'd run into getting it to bolted up to the 360. It might just be cheaper to buy new gears for the 20

Pretty sure one of my co workers has a dodge 360-np435-205 combo from an 80s dually.
I had a similar combo, but the 205 was divorced. Not sure if theirs in the same.

Could possibly swap in an output from a ford 435.

I think the one I'm thinking of May have originally had a 208 tcase then was swapped for a 205

How was it bolted together? Did it bolt right up or did you have to get adaptor kit?

It has factory looking cast adapter and the 205 has a 29 spline male input, trans has 29 spline male output and there is a splined sleeve between them,

Like the 10 spline (465/205) and 27 spline chevy (th350/205) if you are familiar with them.

I was asking if the 435 and 465 bellhousing shared a similar 4 bolt pattern and fore/aft spacing. Literally no idea, just spitballing. Would of course need the pilot to be the same and all.

Okay, I'm gonna look into that. Thanks

I look in to this too, I got a 465 in the shop too but I'd need a adapter kit for it and they run around $600 and I'd still need the piller that bolts the 205
To 465

We mounted a ford 435 to a sm465 bell housing using two new bolt holes. But don't know if dodge / ford is same?

Why not put a 2wd trans in it and a divorced 205 and be done?

That might work but I'd have to get another trans or convert mine to two wheel, plus have to find a divorced 205

Thanks to everyone for all of the different input
