6.0 Horsepower upgrades?

So anybody with good reports on the larger ported/polished tb's? Stock is 75mm. I know the fast stuff helps, but I don't have the money for it. Just trying to decide between a stock tb or a 80mm unit?

my ls motor is pretty strong and im on a stock mass air and throttle body. i could see better ways to spend that 1500 to 2000 for the fast setup

I didn't buy a throttle body for increase in power. I needed a 4 bolt pattern cable throttle body for the L92 intake. Stock on my LQ4 was 3 bolt pattern.

Going with an LQ4 6.0. Ended up with a free car intake and gave $100 for a ported stock car TB & rails injectors. Found a GMPP Hot Cam with springs & retainers for $200 and couldn't pass it up. Should be a pretty good little cam:

Only parts I still need are flow through fuel rails, headers and the gated pan. EOR does the ECM tuning in house and we are going with a brand new custom made wiring harness.

Matt, sounds like you have a good plan for your motor. keep it simple and reliable. It seems like you are trying to address the problems that alot of people are having with those motors when racing...... :dblthumb:

Brian I really have no idea what all the numbers mean in relation to the aggressiveness of the came but I was told the GMPP is similar to the LS6 cam and that is what I was looking for. Something better than stock but not crazy. Reliability is important to me

how much lift can the stock l92 springs take ?

I think it is generally believed that they are not good for anything above stock. Aftermarket springs are considered mandatory with virtually all aftermarket cams and I have never heard of anyone NOT doing it.

alright. I was the high bidder on a l92's last night but got out bid at the last minute, they sold for 720

You probably didn't want them anyway then. I think I just paid $640 shipped for mine, they are new with rockers, valves, and springs.

Did you receive them yet? I'm looking for mine any day now.

Ya ill keep looking. If anyone see's any I would appreciate a heads up
thanks

Just pay attention to that thread I linked to in a previous post above. You can sign up with ls1tech.com and then subscribe to that thread to receive emails instantly when it is updated. He gets those heads in often and they go quick but they're the best deal on L92's I've seen.

Haven't posted anything in a long time. I had some major motor issues with the truck on New Year's. Chris at Danzio Performance built me a fire breathing 442 LSX block motor with a Callies Forged crank, 4.125", H-beam rods, custom JE pistons that Chris designed. Chris also designed his own custom solid roller Cam. He used T&D rocker arms, ported my L92 heads, and did a whole lot to more to build this motor. He dyno-tuned the motor, and it put out 732 hp. to the crank at 6200 rpms. The motor revs all the way up to 7300 and still making good power.

How about that

Amazing, huh? That si an aftermarket block though. The LSX is a GM Performance Parts iron-block containing the best of all the LS block features. It can be made up to 500CID and support over 1500 hp. All that in a small-block package and weight. So he's definitely got some money into that motor.

Mine will be here today, according to Fed Ex.

Yup, mine just got here shinny and new! Like I said though, they're not going on for quite a while.
