90's throw back....Manche build

Rear panels are done, muffler is secured to the chassis... now to finish front drivers inner fender, toolbox, and cooler rack. Interior soon...

Looks good! I really enjoy doing body and interior panels. I think bead rolling really brings a build to the next level. Have you tried the new roller dies yet? Just curious which ones you like using the best

Yea I really enjoy it too. It's on the top of my list of things I enjoy, second to laying beads, (I enjoy new wiring to). I'm really having to show some restraint on bead rolling.... have lots of ideas that would really be overboard for this particular build. I watch too many hot rod and metal shaping builds... lol.


The new dies work great. I've only used a couple pieces so far. I think they're a great hobbyist set. Their tipping die is still to wide for diamond tuck pattern. I'm going to order Hoosier Profile tipping die set for that type of detail; they make some nice dies for the economy rollers.

It's an Eastwood economy. I have their louver die. It needs to be turned and polished to sharpen up the cutting edge. It seems to work better if you pre cut the slit.

stupid busy weeks with work, sons car blew a motor Monday, 5th wedding anniversary last weekend, family vacation this weekend, and to top it off my uncle passed away this week, 52 years old. Youngest brother of my mother by 18 years; this was the man that became guardian of my younger brothers when my parents passed 23 years ago. (I was already 19). Stopped his whole life at 28 years of age to come help my brothers and i. A true gentle giant. Also taught me how to party... Lol.

Spent some time in the shop today to get out of the fog ...

Working on the last two exterior pieces of tin, to fully close the front inner fenders up.

Also decided the radiator cover looked a little plain, so I added some branding... my first attempt at script with the bead roller. Turned out pretty decent, even though it was on .090 aluminum, awful thick for rolling.

Yea the thickness upped the difficulty. Basically two passes, cranked half way and roll, crank again and roll back.

Picked a starting point and went around til I came back to the beginning.

Yes they did actually, I was surprised as well. Although the holes are 5/16 and the fasteners are 1/4.

Slow shop week, extra busy with my paying job, lol.


Did find a cooler and a place for it, also received my Mac's tire strap. Secured the hood prop on the inner fender, no rattles.

Also got the DSC adjusters on the shocks and a base shim pack tune installed last night and today. Still have to make mounting tabs for the reservoirs.

Sorry for lack of updates of recent.


Real life has me rolling past couple weeks. 2 work trucks, 2 replacement engines, son's Honda accord-currently putting second of two engines in this week. And icing on the cake... cracked a rib working on one of my f450 work trucks while replacing the motor... Not fun.

On a good note, attending a two day tig welding seminar (30 participants) this weekend with true master Michael Furick, of DOG Fabrication and Design in Mooresville, N.C. Creator and proprietor of the MFurick gas cups for tig welding. Seminar is specializing in motorsports tig welding of steel and aluminum. Tubing and sheet primarily.


Anyway, hope to be back in my shop next week, not replacing motors, and working on the Comanche. Thanks for staying tuned guys.

...front shock reservoir tabs made and finished...

...factory hood latch cable rerouted, ran through firewall and temporarily mounted in kick panel til pedals are hung...


... air filter elbow installed and filter attached...

...little stuff...
