Cherokee Problems

well my uncle has this cherokee and he cant get it running right. It will start for a while and then turn off it is a 95. we think it has to do with the key because he bought it at an auction for 600 bucks and think the real owner lost the key because the real keys have chips in them and you have to buy a special key to get it to run....some safety feature or soomthing. so if you think you might no what it is your advice would be appreciated

If it's anything like a ford, it won't even fire without the chip in the key.

I don't believe Jeep used keys with chips in 95. If its a '95 it should just be a flat square headed key. I could be wrong tho.

If you have the oval key a chip key would be grey and a little fatter, the non chip key would be black and flatter. A 95 shouldn't have a chip key. How long does it run before it shuts off? It might have an alarm that is not working properly, the factory alarm shuts off the fuel.

thats what we thought might happen after playing with it the fuel pump justs shuts off and doenst allow you to keep it running very long like 5-10 seconds......is there any fixes
