So this is my first time building an exocage so i am still working on my bending capabilities but i think it has turned out ok, i figure after i hit some trees and roll it'll straighten itself out anyways... It doesn't help that i'm using a harbor fright pipe bender and a grinder to notch the tube (makes it a little tricky sometimes). I wound up getting about 180ft of 1 1/2" 1/4 wall pipe for free and thats what got me started on this journey. My whole goal with this build is to get the tires outside the fenders so i can lower it and set it up with more down travel to have a lower center of gravity.

I just got a new computer (I haven't had one for about two years) so i will be uploading pics finally. I've been building this for a while now but i never started a thread because i could't upload pics

now for the front... what i wanted to do was have a bar go up and over at the very front of the frame, if i kept the stock core support and did that i would have no place to mount lights and nothing to set my hood on. So i got an old CJ grill painted it, bent a bar around it and now i have headlights and a place to set my hood. i still wound up going a different way with the hood (just welding tabs on the tube and mounting hood pins on them) but at least i got the headlights figured out.

re-setup the shackles on the front end now, set it up for more droop suspension. still sits a couple inches higher in the front so I'm gonna pull a couple leafs out and see where that gets me. my front springs have always been kinda stiff and I've wanted to pull a couple leafs out for a while so now I'm finally going to.

:wtf: is up with that floating rafter setup? One end sits on a wall it looks like, but the door/entrance end looks to be just pinned against each other?

so this is where I'm at now, i still need to do the sheet metal for the front fenders, paint, pull a couple leafs out, finish up some wiring stuff, move the winch back and butt it up against the grill, re-adjust the steering and finish doing some heat shields for between the headers and the wiring then I'm ready to hit the trails again... I don't have a lot of time to work on it but I will update as I go
