cleaning old gas residue

Is there something that is better than carb cleaner at cleaning the residue left from old gas? Motorcylce carb had gas sitting in it for a year and the bowl is full of crude and buildup. Carb cleaner somewhat removed it, but not all of it even with a brush. Ideas?

Try some Top Engine Cleaner, and let it sit for a while. Have used GM's TEC before, and had good results.

Get some Chemtool B-12 (I believe). Comes in a can w/ a dip basket so you can drop it in and let 'er soak. Good stuff and you can use it over and over.
When I had quads I always had some handy.
