Do you grease your balls?

Screw the wear on the ball. It's the wear on the inside of the coupler that you should worry about. You won't see the wear on the coupler, but you will see the metal on the ball gall up or "smear".

Pintle hitch's don't need grease.

But ball couplers do!!!

Joe's pic looks like the hitch that was on my flatbed before switched to pintle.

I call that a perfect example of why the trailer ball needs greased. That coupler has worn to the point of failure. :awesomework:

I call that time to get a new coupler, they are a wear item, and that one is beyond old....how many years of ungreased service do you think they got out of it....they are less than $100 for a good one too...**** don't last forever and that is a crappy one at best.
