I guess it's just all part of the journey. If your gig is busting out a job with maximum efficiency and minimal time, then totally :cool: If you would rather slow things down a touch, have some beers along the way, enjoy the company of your buddies standing by BSing, and still eventually get done, that's :cool: too.

Personally, I'm usually in a mad dash from the time I get to work til the time I leave. I have no issues slowing my pace when I'm at home.

Just my opinion......but I think the booze should be kept at the camp site and off the trail! I drink enough for 2 people while around the campfire....but you'll never catch me on the trail with any alcohol. My rig is big enough to run over any drunk ****s that get in my way and no one in my crew drinks while on the trail! Except for Vinnie....he carries a gun so we don't mess with him much. :redneck:

I am not going to read through the poo this thread probably has all through it. But my answer is YES. I drink beer on the trail but don't get drunk. I drink it on the trail so when I do get back to camp I am closer to getting a nice buzz. And I drink it on the trail becuase it tastes good. Taking shots on the trail and mixing cocktails is going to far IMHO.

No way, no how. Alcohol does not belong on the trails.

I deal with drunks everyday in my line of work. I would venture to say that 90% of my job relates to drunken idiots. Many of the idiots, when asked how much they had to drink, give the all famous "one or two beers." In their little heads they think one-two beers is okay.

What many people don't know is that to get a DUI, you do not have to be over 0.08 BAC. All the Officer has to prove is impairment. Impairment is not hard to prove when there is a trace of alcohol in your system and you get into some sort of collission with an innocent by-stander, a tree, another vehicle, or whatever poor thing happens to be in your drunken path.

Needless to say my answer is a big NO and I will not put up with it from anyone I wheel with.

I don't get the justification. Many who drink beer pack all their garbage out. Trash left on the trail is just a sign of jackassery, not a function of drinking.
