GMP - Dixie Run - September 26-29, 2013

Re: Re: GMP - Dixie Run - September 26-29, 2013

I've never came across from 4, (didn't know about it), love trail 5 up to it, we did it Thursday night when it was slimy, avoiding crackhead obstacle, and ran it again sat night, doing the obstacle. ... Good times!

The next time we go to GMP we will put up some signs because we had a hard time finding our way and we cut the trail. It starts at the top of 4 (big head)just go to the top of the hard rock trail from there and look to your left.If you do that section you wont forget the downhill very cool trail. Did anyone try the new trail?

These fellas are the ones that cut crackhead I believe. Halcat Sawzall correct me if I am wrong.
. Rockwell 1 (Steve) layer out crackhead, as well as most all the good trails cut lately. I was mis understood . I was at crackhead and trail 28 . They are on different ends of the park. As a matter of fact, I put the sign up " welcome to the jungle". Very few parks can handle as much traffic as GMP did this weekend and still be an all around park. My hats off to you, GMP!

Looks like everyone had a good time this weekend!

Also glad to see Twisted40 turning up some dirt on the trails.

Yes the new owner seems very pleased. David is a good dude. Had a minor issue, had to replace alternator but seemed to do very well. Good looking ride.

cool.. there was another new trail over there cut last year right?

Yep, we cut the one from the parking lot.

Gonna make a couple signs one day next week and hang them, that way people will know what to call stuff

Finally got a min to tell about this Dixie Run.I have not missed one since 2002,but this year was different from any other! I broke my junk late Thur. night It would not move at all had to be pulled out of the woods for the first time ever. After some troubleshooting I determined the shaft between the 203 and 205 was broken..Fri. morning I was talking about my options and it was unreal the way people offered to help, Steve said I could take his rig for the day some offered me a seat others offered to help fix it.. I did not have a spare shaft so I went to find my friend Dwight Woodlee With Wide Open Design ..After some discussion we decided his doubler shaft would work in my rig..He drove to his place to get one while Perry,Chris and Todd helped me tear it apart!!!There was a steady stream of people that came by to see if I needed any help. Halcat had also offered to let me use his shop .Dwight got back from Wide Open Design and the shaft would work perfect.Got it back together and rode the rest of the weekend!!!!This is a great sport with some of the best people you could ever ask to be around THANKS to everone that helped or offered to help in any way that is what we are all about... :dblthumb: :dblthumb:

Tales of Sam's breakage and fix were traveling through the woods on Saturday, I didn't get to do any "real" riding and only got to talk to about a third of the people I planned too, but still had a good time.
