Golden Mountain Park - Closing

As of two weeks ago, still not sold. There was rumor of someone buying it, but it fell through. So as of right now it sits and overgrows. :(

I know this is an old thread but any word of the property sold to anyone?

Nope, and although it's not "that" expensive,

I believe it will be difficult for someone to buy and run it as a profitable off-road park.

All the extra infrastructure is a double edge sword.

What is the downside to the "infrastructure" ? Insurance?

What is the price? I don't think the sale includes the "Moon" section either.

Initial cost/upkeep/property tax classification/insurance/return on investment

RV hookups make a lot more sense (and profit) than bunkhouses and pavilions.

That's what I thought, wish I had the money to give it a try though.

Banks got plenty of money to loan... I couldn't make the numbers work.

Even if you project high attendance. Which we know isn't going to happen, especially on an extremely wet year like we've had this year.

IMO, bulldoze the building on right when you first come in, maybe both of the buildings. Level out as much as you can down there and RV hook ups galore. RV's don't want to go up that hill. Definitely with the road in the condition it is in currently.

Oh well, probably wasting time discussing it anyway......

Or fix the track and do some sort of racing there for dirt bikes or dirt cars. I miss that place for sure. So many good memories there.

Did they ever run races in that track?

I haven't heard of anyone seeing it being run.

From what I've been told, that circle track was one of the best around in it's day.

IMO Makes it worth a LOT less as an off-road park too. That side is like 1/3 of the hard crawling and a "long" easier loop.

Might as well subdivide it and put a neighborhood on top of the mountain

Still 360ish acres of riding camping, rednecking.. etc. Could be developed to have even better trails.
