Wait, google maps will work without cell service? Or are you saying you pair it to your phone's hotspot? I've been looking at gps options for my motorcycle and do not want to use my primary phone, but I have an old Galaxy S5 that works fine.TBItoy said:I use(d) a 2nd phone (older BIG screen droid) with no cell service activated. Google maps, and download the map area that I'd be traveling in. I also do this when I'm in Mexico, since I don't have an international data package
Handy, and I also used it for Torque, plus if you are somewhere with free wifi you have an extra internet device.

It'll do navigation and everything. I use it in the woods and when out of the country. Also handy when you're out in the back roads too.
