Just another LJ Build

I hated not being able to drive my jeep on the road and did the frame mods to be able to use an 03 and older steering box. Order a new durango box and drilled and taped it for hydro assit and all my steeering problems were solved. I was DDing the jeep to work a few days a week after that.

At this point in my build, I had bought a new air compressor, plasma cutter, all the tools to install ring, pinions and carriers and a much larger toolbox. I did all the work myself except for some of the more critical welding and it was a learning process for me.

I made 23 trips in the jeep in 12-13 months and the jeep worked great until the engine developed a rod knock at AOP.

So I had to move on to a stage two build. I will post more on this later, I have to do some work today.

That's a badass looking jeep!! Can't wait to see more updates. Can you post a couple pictures of your drivers side lower link mounts on the front? I'd like to see how to got it in with so little tube.

You did a great job posting the build of your Jeep. You definitely have an entertaining way of narrating, ha. Nice Jeep man, I'll keep posted on this!

I want an LJ so bad, very cool ! Been trying to talk my wife into getting one for her DD / our small tire toy

How streetable is it? Im seriously thinking about selling my jeep and putting the money into the wife's LJ but she drives it dang near everyday.
I was driving it to work every Friday before the inline-six died. I had some shimmy at 52-53 mph but it was smooth as glass every other speed up to 80 mph. I never when past 80 mph. I suspect that when I get rid of the weld on bead locks that I will not have any shimmy at all.

Everybody's seen the process before.
