As much trailer work me and jimmy have done over the years, not sure we have every thought of wood replacement improvements. Any advice? It's my 34long deck over gooseneck. Only use it for wheeling. Just painted yesterday and ordered new lights.

I would suggest spending the cash and get pressure treated 2x6 if you plan on keeping it

Re:

If you go rough cut or non treated, paint/oil the underneath & side of the boards before putting them on. Then do the top once on the trailer.

If you do treated, recoat after a yr or so.
If your trailer doesn't have them, I recommend using metal straps over the ends of the boards. It helps keep them from popping up and splitting.

I used that deck restore stuff and it painted it on and it seems to be holding up very well so far also I have found it helps if the boards are just laying in the frame with metal strips holding it down if you put bolt to hold down the boards they tend to warp
