Got the new frame home and willl begin the stripping tomorrow:cheer:
I think you got ripped off...or you need glasses...it doesn't look very new :fawkdancesmiley:
Boy that's narrow...
Yup, that's the angle I'm coming from too. We run a CJ5 with a 55" rear Dana 44 fabbed from a low pinion front housing on 36's.
Not that I recommend running a HP44 in the rear, but Mike Dixon ran one in the rear of his buggy for a couple of years with 38" TSL/SX tires. He sold the rig to a guy in california who ran it for a couple of more years with no problems. It had a TBI 4.3 to toy 5 spd. and dual cases as well.
Nice little flanges. Where'd you source them?
Wow Jim...I didn't recognize your rig with that :bling: new part on there :fawkdancesmiley:
another productive day:cheer: got the rear x member made up and put in along with the skid plade and hydro slave cyl. for the clutch. Anyone have any expieriance with these pull type slaves? I had it and thought I would give it a try.
I've always wondered about those, makes for a nice clean install. My push type is too close to the exhuast.
Let me know how it works.:;
In my toy I had to build a heat shield for my push type slave. The fluid would get hot and the clutch would go out.

Your crossmember tube looks a little thin 1/8"?
yea its 1/8 and everytime i look at it I think the same thing. I need to figure out a way to either beef it up or make another one:booo: was thinking about adding a piece of bar stock down the center on edge to help keep it from bowing. Had the same issues with the slave on the old rig thats why I wanted to try this.
thanks Kev, you got me all worried now so I picked up a piece of 3/16 tube and gonna redo the tube now. at least I know where it all goes now:redneck:
238 posts and all i see is a frame with a tranny supported with something that looks like conduit :wtf: :scratchhead:
