That slot need the corners built up and filed/ground straight again.

That bolt should have a straight sided nipple, not angled sides.

I had to do the same.Filled in the worn out areas,took a skinny cut off wheel to clean it up and used a factory bolt meant for the shifter. I want to say in the last years of the Samurai they used a larger shift bolt,Hawk zuk used to perform the modification.

Yea... Kinda figured that out after I realized I had to widen the whole slot to the size of the 'worn out' center... But, my plan is to pick up a new shifter and top housing...

I've also read that adding a second bolt on the other side, and slotting the shifter is an excellent fix/improvement... May do that too later down the road...

Then one side can unscrew itself when going into 1st to reverse and the other can unscrew when going from reverse to 1st!
