I have a 93 4runner with 3.slow, 5speed, 4.30 gears and 31s.thats my DD and I found a 94 runner with factory 4.88's and a posi. Will the 4.88 therd just swap over? And is 300 for the rear therd a good price?

If its factory and never had a "posi" installed its prob. an open diff with a V6 carrier.

That would be my thought. Factory V6 open were a 2-piece carrier, with a 4-spider gear internals.

Oh, and factory 4.88's have a different pinion offset, so you'll never be able to replace the gears in that 3rd member without buying OEM.

Yup, yup, nope.

They never had a factory limited slip differential in the United States for those trucks.

A Supra limited slip can be modified to fit.

So you have a 4.88 4 pinion open differential there. Unless it has some kind of aftermarket limited slip.

Damn. I was really looking forward to the posi. I haven't bought it yet(Trying to get the money together for front and rear). Thanks guys for the replies. I might just order gears and install kits and do it my self(for about the price)
