understanding oil sending units

Are oil sending units pretty much a generic part to all vehicles or are they make/model differances...

I have a 350 SB in a Toyota and want to run the SR5 cluster of dash gauges which include the need to hook up a oil sending unit, is there a unit for this or will there have to be adaptors...?

you need to use the CORRECT toyota sending unit, with the proper adapter. so you can thread it into the 350 block.
