How long should they last? Got the tires rotated and they told me there is play on the passenger front. Rig is 04 dodge 56000 miles ran the stock tires and wheeles for the frist 50000. Just seems like I should have got more from them.

I replaced one at 80k miles. It all depends on how you drive it.

Seems there's an issue with them (nothing new); replaced a couple with less than 70K on the clock already ('04 and '05)...save your receipts; If for some reason Dodge recalls these, there may be compensation due if you already replaced 'em...:awesomework:

They SHOULD last a whole lot longer than they do. Dodge can't seem to get the durability of their solid front axles right. We're replacing them on a daily basis where I work, even on brand new ones.

its not very common for the unit bearing itself to go out. its way more common for the u-joints to seize.

Whaaa??? On newer stuff?? I can understand older stuff, but even those still have issues with the unit bearings...

its the bearing as there is top to bottom play with tire. I think I am going to go with the dyna trac hub conversion

IF you got the money, go for it.

But yes, we see lots of GM's, fords, and dodges with bearings failing at anything over 40-50k.

I got 140k out of the ones on my F-350, and only then one was bad. I replaced them as a set. :corn:
