So V-6 housings are reinforced more which means less flex, but in real life what does that equate to? Better R&P wear? Less R&P breakage? Pinion doesn

I upgraded to V6 third, but mostly because there were no 4 cylinder thirds to be found in any boneyards.

I prefer to use the v6 diff. I usually have them so there easy for me to get. I dont buy full carrier detroits, I prefer to run the v6 lockright for the front. it is cheaper, has better manners, wont puke if you break an axle or hub like a detroit. I have not seen one break either. I do prefer the 4 cyl diff for the rear as they are easier to weld up. welding up a v6 diff is a pain but can be done properly.

I killed a V6 lockright in my HP front diff by breaking too many shafts and birfs on it... It finally turned into a spool.

If you really want to weld a V6 diff grab one out of an open E locker. Thay look the same as a 4 cylinder diff but they have all the V dimensions.
