hehe:haha:

yah I read it that way too. :redneck:

This plan they want to roll out will most likely end up putting money outside of the area you would want it to go to. If there was a way that you could ensure that if 1000 people bought $40/yr at walker valley, there would be another $40k/yr there, then I'd be for it. But sadly I can't see that happening.

If we could rally DNR to pressure the legislature to put in a clause like above, that'd be good for us.

if they asked for 20 dollars a day to wheel Evans Creek then the roads up there better be paved with gold:flipoff:. but seriously Oregon charges 10 dollars for a YEAR, and the last time i went to tillamook it was very well maintained and put anywhere Ive been in Washington to shame and it cost me nothing compared to the day use fee's here.:shaking:

Has anyone tried the timber companies, maybe they would lease out a section, all of their land is behind gates and so non of the eco-friendlies would have access, Hancock bought all of the Weyerhaeuser land above Enumclaw and you can access it for hunting by purchasing a permit for around $150 a year.

Has been done before, single trackers have done it, and are attempting to again. But, now that all the timber companies are non-local, all they care about is timber. SPI is the worst. Same with Cambell group.

The DNR sustainability meeting brought up user fees as a way to help fund our recreational activities.

Who here would be willing to pay a daily user fee, who would pay a for an annual pass, fee (yearly fee), etc? -- Assume the daily use fee would be for an ORV area like 'old' reiter -- hard, lots of trails, etc.

It is a multiple choice poll. Please select all the options you'd pay if yes. If no, ONLY choose NO!

This is all in theory. Ignore things like staffing, logistical collection issues, etc... if you had to 'pay-to-play', would you and how much?

would you be willing to pay for use fee for a place like Walker valley?

I wish I had more time to get involved, here's a idea to think about?

What about "USERS" volunteering time for things such as work parties / clean up and other things like, well i don't know.... helping that specific area to stay open and useable for years to come. VERSUS the pass the bucket around to fill someones pockets. If offroaders put in the time for such things, they could receive a pass to go offroading for free yearly. Otherwise then by all means, no HOURS put in for helping or work duties, then charge users a fee.

? :corn:

I'd like to see 4x4 trail users require an ORV tag like in Oregon. The price isn't really the issue but the tag should be required. Why? If tags were required it would give the LEOs a tool to cite drivers that shouldn't be there. There would be far fewer dumbass kids with their Mom's Exploder hitting the trails to party.

those prices do seem steep.$5-$10 makes more sence. unless it included lunch. if i bought a year pass it better cover the whole state not just 1 spot. and if i end up having to buy a pass it better get checked by an official, or else whats the point of buying it; if no one checks it. especially if the next guy gets to wheel for free.

Ive had this DEBATE with many ol'school wheelers... *("thats what I'll call them!")

Make it MANDATORY for anyone buying a new or used vehicle in Washington state, or registering one that is a 4WD. Period, make it mandatory that 4WD owners pay a special license fee in order to have the priviledge of a 4WD. Yea, that includes AWD too, anyone with one of these rigs would pay a extra license fee, in order to help pay and support ORV areas. Regardless if they were used or not by the owners of 4WD / AWD vehicles. The fee's alone from just this would more than cover costs and officers to maintain ORV areas. Plus there could be a CAP on it based off of areas and money needed to support / maintain the existing ORV areas. After a studied analysis of money needed, the cap could be set in place and lawmakers could just RAPE the extras for other projects or their pockets. Long run, EVERYONE would WIN WIN.

I already pay $60.00+ for the annual forest pass. This is on top of the additinoal monies for fishing licenses...even during times when I'm not fishing to just launch a boat in the summer time to play on the lake.

On that note I have no problem paying a yearly fee of $60-100 a year to use an ORV area, however there needs to be certainty the money is used for the trails and NOT PUT INTO a GENERAL FUND, or SOME OTHER PET PROJECT. This should also extend to dirtbikes, quads, and other ORV's, and not signling out rigs.

Funny how any time an issue comes up these areas are always singled out. Clearly the yuppies who hike over there weigh in much more than the rest of us.

I really don't care how it's done. If we can get in on "pay to play" we have a much more robust argument on what is being done with 4x4 land.

As long as the money stays in house, I will gladly pay to play. :awesomework:

Myself like others have stated--I have no problem paying a use fee--as long as it goes into the correct "fund" and not get absorbed in the general fund...... At the same time that doesn't mean squat--look at what we have seen already. :looser:

As long as we could get legislation that "ORV Park money stays ORV Park Money" I'm good to go.

The problem with this is it's been done before and the funds were still used for other things. There's no gaurantee the funds will go where they're supposed to.

Many special "groups" have license plates now, $25 goes to whatever their thing is, whynot do an ohv plate, it also shows you are a wheeler. The money goes to ohv areas or to the nova funds.
