I've been listening to Phil preach for around 10 years, have shook his hand several times and lemme tell you he is a man of faith and is exactly the same in person as on the show. His part is about as close to reality TV as you can get. He is very educated and no dumb ass redneck by any means. It is people like him that stand for faith that have an opportunity to turn this country around and help some of those "far worse things" that are happening outside our windows. I think it is great when the American people stand behind someone like Phil or Chic Fil a and support our freedom of speech.

I don't like the show. But I think it's a lot better than 95% of the trash on tv. I also think its sad that this is what America goes crazy over. Imagine if we all went crazy if some president was destroying the USA... But atleast America likes people like the robertsons

All these posts about it being sad that America is more worried about "this" than "that" do not make any sense to me, in fact I see them as quite dumb. Every damn body I know hates the fawk out of Obama and will be in agreeance that America is steadily morphing into a big ole steamy pile of cow **** because of our country's leaders. We all talk about it. We all post or have posted about it. Obama's bullshit fills our ears and eyes everyday on national tv..... The comparison is not even anywhere close with that of this minute Duck Dynasty controversy.

So let me get this straight, weird bearded super christian redneck from the south turns out to not be a fan of gay people.
Has a public image he has to live up to due to his job, says hateful things about people that don't have any affect on his life. Employer fires him for saying things he should have not said. I'm pretty sure i would get fired if i said something that would damage the image of the company i work for (in a publication).
And now everyone thinks the employer is wrong because they are not standing behind a guy who can't keep his mouth shut about issues that may/will damage their image or profits
Last time i checked the 1st amendment didn't protect your job.
