Spinoff: Flag etiquette

So here lately with everything been going on there has been a lot of talk about flags and the respect they deserve. There is a thread on here where one was used on a buggy, while his heart was in the right place it did piss a few people off on here. I was taught from a young age the flag gets respect because it's not just fabric. You never let it touch the ground, during the Pledge of Allegiants or National Anthem you took your hat off and covered your heart. If you didn't you got a hard hit on the head and a bigger beating later. It seems today people don't even face the flag or know the Pledge.

What are your thoughts on this? I didn't want to hijack the build thread anymore than it already was. I am thick skinned not much gets to me, but the flag stuff does in a bad way. When I saw that fat bitch walking on it I wanted to punch her square in the face.

I completely agree. The etiquitte surrounding the flag would probably surprise some people. It is a symbol that demands respect. I wasn't offended by the buggy use, he did realize what people were informing him of and made the decision to remove the flag for now. All that being said, this is how "our" leader feels about said flag................................

I wish I could but I cant right now but the picture of Regan kissing the flag with tears in his eyes is one of my favorite pictures. At least he loved the country.

I have to admit, I am breaking one flag rule, mine is not always illuminated at night. I have had one on my front porch for years. Dad is the same way. They aren't just for holidays.

I was taught since preschool to give the flag the utmost respect. I am a red blooded patriot mother ****er. I have the utmost respect for the flag, mostly in respect for all that have died for it, and are now defending it. However, our country is sooooooo ****ed up right now I don't think anyone cares about it anymore. The leadership and morals of this county has changed so much in the last 10 years, it is scary to me. I will always honor the flag for what is has been, but **** what America has become, and is right now.

Was anyone aware of the "outrage" around memorial day about PacSun selling a T shirt with the American Flag upside down?

A few idiots complained and they pulled all the shirts.

I think we all need to start flying it that way. The men and women that have served will understand, the people who realize this great nation is on its knees will also.

I have always thought of ways to express my distaste for the **** show that is happening right now to our nation, on a broad spectrum. Maybe the REAL patriots of this nation need to start waving the flag upside down....Sad....

Look up Creed Fisher on the facetube. The song isn't on the youtubes yet, but he just posted a song called "You got the right to burn my flag, and I got the right to kick your ass". Kinda long for a title, but good premise.
