This is insignificant tech compared to most of what's posted here but I stumbled on this today and decided to try it. 15 minutes and free. If you drive a GM truck or SUV, you know the front seats don't recline for ****. When we travel to wheel somewhere wife always complains she can't sleep. I just figured there was nothing I could do, but I now know there is.

I used a die grinder on the brass ring seen below. Just take your time. If you mess up the threads on the rod, you have a problem. Notice the position of the armrests. That's both seats all the way back, before I did passenger side.

Do you remove the brass nut?

Yes. I'm not sure if it's a nut, collar, etc but I tried like hell to just "loosen" it but it doesn't move. So, just grind it then take pliers and pull/pry apart and you're done.
