Proud Dads

11yr old and cleaning gutters. Started out not wanting to, but once he figured out he was able to get on top of the house he was content. If it had been my 37yr old brother he would have complained about the heights but not this little :woody: head.

My twins getting big enough to wrestle. The smaller one is the master with ground control. They are 2.5 now. Crazy how one knows how to do things without being taught.

I saw this thread come back up and new I had to finally contribute. I don't brag on my boy enough even though he is a pretty good little badass He did great at motocross camp and does well on his dirt bike, is becoming a pretty good driver on his razor and now we signed him up for wrestling out of the blue. He is seven and most of the kids his wrestling against have been wrestling for three years. I never wrestled so I have no idea what to tell him to do. I have never watched wrestling or really cared. Last Saturday was his first tournament after only five practices and very little knowledge gained. Seven years old and 67 pounds there were five kids in his group, 3 lb increments. He beat the first three easily as did one of the other kids. It is a round robin so everybody wrestles everybody at the novice level. In the final match the two undefeated kids went against each other by chance. My boy straight up manhandled the other kid and threw him on his face like four times. Won on points easily. Still doesn't really know what a pin is or how to get there laughing1. It was kickass to watch. Now he's pretty hooked. And goes to 3 practices a week wanting to get better

Been meaning to post here. My girl was born 10/18/16. Crazy how all your priorities change so quickly!

I also thought some of you might get a kick out of one of her Christmas picture LOL

Fixing his broke parts. Told him if he breaks it he fixes it, I did help break bolts loose and tell him what to do next.

Westling is pretty cool. Never did it as a kid or high schooler, figured it would help my kid manage his temper and gain some discipline and toughness. He's 7. First meet in january after about 6 practices and no idea what he was doing he beat the other 5 kids to get first. This time he took a pin in the first match and then won the next 3 out the left side of the bracket (double elim) for a third place of 8 kids. So kickass to see him come back and fight after being so bummed and crushed at that first loss.

Man that's awesome! I really think that is the best sport to teach a kid winning and losing and how hard work pays off. Once ours figured out he was not going to hurt the other kid he let loose and started doing better.

The first meet he made a couple kids cry and one was screaming bloody murder the whole time. He kept saying afterwards how bad he felt and he didn't like thinking he hurt that other boy etc. He's a good one but is starting to figure out its just for sport and its OK to go hard. He got third again in the last meet, it was open instead of novice and they reset and award the other wrestler a point every time you lock hands around their torso. Got called for it 8 times in one match and lost by 1 point, otherwise he was whipping the **** out of him laughing1 Hard to explain to him why he lost when he did nothing different (we never practiced to not grab hands, and I don't know any better to tell him what to do) Ready for next year already, we are doing pushups and situps every morning and pull ups at night.

Went car shopping sat and got my daughter her first car loan, 08 escape. I was almost as happy as she was

If this kid keeps it up, she'll end up a better shot than I ever was. This was at 15yds.

He has his own 6v 4 wheeler, but he's figured out his sisters is faster so he just wants to ride on it.
