New BK Offroad Park

What about food? There is a small park somewhat local to us that has a very nice small log cabin type building to sign in at and they have a small grill and fryer for food. They make a killing........ Hot dogs, burgers and fries. They also have drinks and ice cream in the summer time. I have been lucky enough to have wheeled across the country and I will have to say you would never know you were at a off road park when your there. Also as much as it sucks for the hardcore crowd I would probably cater to the local jeep club and JK guys they drop loads of cash.

I bet Jeremy York would burn some cow on occasion there. :eat:

-If there are a LOT of different trails, name them not number them. I can't stand trying to associate 100 different trails with damn numbers.

I've rode AOP a dozen times already and still can't tell you the number for the trails I've rode. I just go "up the hill halfway on the left past the big rock garden on the main trail". My group has already started giving them generic names to help our dumbasses remember certain trails we like.

When I say let's hit Viper at HPO, we don't have to spend an hour deciphering where and which trail that is.

However, Cartotracks would go a long way in helping with this if it was numbered.

All of our Trails will be named, I hate a numbered Trail system for the same reasons you mentioned.
Cartotracks is already on board and we should have a map before the grand opening if all goes well. :dblthumb:

-Night riding
-Easy access for breakage
-A few big obstacles with some open area for viewing and just hanging out shootin the ****
-Nothing worse than sitting in line for 2hrs at big events

-Unless something unforeseen changes, there WILL be night riding. I already spoke with the mayor of Stevenson about this, he said it's no problem.
-Easy access (and multiple access points) in and out will no doubt be a part of the park. I can't stand lines.
-We want to cater to everyone. Obstacles from mild to wild. And I get it, my riding style consists of riding for 20-30min and then hanging out for 20-30min. Any area around the trail system that is conducive to parking or viewing big obstacles (out of the way) will be prepped for that purpose.
-And to echo what Matt said, I hate numbering trails. We want all the trails to have names. And we will be getting setup with Cartotracks to make for a better experience for all.
-We WILL have food at big events. The BBQ man (Jeromy York) is not available for the SRRS race on April 28-30, but we will have a vendor present for that weekend.

Plans are one thing, but real world riding is another. If we have an event and there is a problem... crowded access roads, more food choices, parking, etc, then we will act to alleviate that problem. We want it to be the best it can be, it will be a constant work in progress. That is why feedback from you all is so important!

I got a request... I`m not gonna mention any parks but, If you end up building a bath house please Don`t make it so the water from the guy next to you runs into your shower stall. LOL That **** kills me. It would be cool to have a little (nothing fancy) track for the small ones to ride on. I usually bring my kids to crawl with me and I like bringing their lil RZR and 4 wheeler. Man you put a kid on a little track and they have a blast for hours. Fun to watch them to.. Good stuff. Nobody likes rules I get that but, don`t scared to have a few just to help keep everybody safe. Speeding in main areas etc..etc..

We got the Dozer rented for the week to make our perimeter trails. Then its time for some more hill climb cutting. :driving:

how about an ice vending machine?

An ice bin would be more cost effective....the cheapest vending machine is 20k and a complete pile of junk. An icemaker and an ice merchandiser cooler will cost you 2500. Yeah, bagging ice takes 15 minutes, but the maintenance is minimal and the initial cost is a lot more manageable. Or you could contact an ice company and they will bring a box and deliver it. Though if you do it that way, they charge you a $1.25 and you only make $0.75 or less if you decide to pay taxes. If it were me, I'd take the last option and not be out anything but the electricity for the bin and the ice in the box.

gas stations close by? most parks don't have ice (that I've been to and that's many)

There are a few gas stations, Mcdonalds, Jack's, Burger King and Grocery Store all in Stevenson.

Cart Track Came out on Friday and we mapped the entire property, he will hopefully be back one more time before the opening event to mark the new trails for the Map App.

Our 2nd Case Dozer broke, then they brought us an old John Deere Dozer with 3000hrs and it worked like a boss. Had a good trail ride/ work day Saturday before the storms. This place is freakin amazing and I can't wait for everyone to come see it. check out the facebook park page for the latest videos.

#1 priority is trail access. Then gravel or stone for the entrance road / parking area. Primitive camping then an RV area even if it is electrical hookup only. Maybe a Pavilion or large carport for rain protection or shade for those managing events. The rest is minor details that may not be worth the reward. Imo.

Gravel Road is already in place that leads to a Day parking field, Family Camping Area, and Party Camping Area which is right behind the pavilion where we will setup all of the vendors.
No RV hookups as of yet, that will be coming in the future.
