i dont have much to put down right now except that im heading to pick up my new 77 power wagon. i know this might not look like a big thing right now without pics but im excited and cant wait. my very first rig was a 75 power wagon. BUT the best part of it is the price. are you ready ??? $400.

it is a 1/2 ton 4x4, 318 (or so the owner thinks  ), auto (owners not sure what kind  ), and transfer case is same as motor and tranny the owner doesnt know lol. it has locking hubs though so someone has done some work on it. short box, (mix matched) 33's, 3-4 inch lift, new headers, tinted windows, diamnd plate tool box, matching bed rails, tow package, custom seats (probably a seat cover :haha: ).

the plan (so far)

first find out the particulars on the drivetrain :haha:
fix anything wrong with it
build a tube front bumper
dovetail the rear
tube rear bumper
winches front/rear
maybe some more lift (want to keep COG down)
35" boggers (cut)
interior roll cage
probably forgetting or leaving out a couple things

then when my bank account recouperates
looking for one ton axles
doubler
and so on and so forth

ill put some pics up of it when i get it home.

I have great respect for those old power wagons from watching the old TV show "riptide"

Good luck on your rig

the build on this rig will start slow because im in the process of moving. but heres some pics of the truck, only real issues so far is the seat needs replaced and the floor boards have some rust holes to cut out.

can anyone help me identify these axles? i think the rear is an 8.75 (could be wrong) but whats the front? theyre both 5 lug if that helps any.

I used to have a 76 powerwagon and it had the 8.75 rear and a dana 44 front but it had the small 5lug bolt pattern which is the same as the 87 thru who knows wrangler bolt pattern i guess there is a small five and a large five .. your front diff cover looks like some finned aluminum cover for cooling or somthing ... hmmm thats a good lookin mopar though nice find ..

yah im pretty happy with my find on this truck. yah i noticed the aftermarket diff cover. the rear leafs are also set up for the kicker shocks, but theres none on it. the PO said it had a 242 transfer but that doesnt sound right. i just got it off the trailer and had to head to work so i havnt even been able to really look it over. i looked at the fact the body is in good shape, it ran and drove and was 400 bucks. the rest i can deal with and/or change.

id like to get a set of usa6x6 wheels or something like that but i dont have that kind of cash flow right now (paying off the tow rig). but for rubber im thinking a set of cut boggers. i wont wheel anything other than a steel wheel. with a steel wheel i can pound out dents and make them hold air again lol.

well not much has gotten done yet in actual work. had a 30 mph wind storm the other day so didnt do much.

today i got the new battery in it and started it up, found out the 4wd shifter needs to be fixed cause it only goes in 4 low. need to adjust carb and timing.

have the 33's sold already. might have a set of 3/4 ton axles on the way. and a set of 38" swampers on black steelies for a good price. looking for a 401 engine to drop into it.

not much will get done in the next few days though cause found out this morning my grandfather was life flighted to a heart specialist. found out this afternoon he has a hole in his heart and a vein completely blocked (they dont know how is doing as well as he is, but i know "cause hes a tough old boy"). so i am off tomorrow morning after work to go see him. they are doing surgery as we speak. this is a bad year :booo:

picking up a 74 dodge truck, 3/4 ton, 4x4, 4 speed, divorced 205, no motor, no bed, for lets hear it :eek:mg: $300

and the 38 inch TSL swampers mentioned before im picking up for $500 (about 75% tread)

both of these are thanks to 2 friends from work

well my grandpa is sloly making head way. so i am back home for now and am working on plans for the dodge. it will mainly be an off roader so im not to worried about making it pretty. im thinking about cutting the fenders out like yunit, if anyones ever been on CK5 they might know already what im talkking about. if you dont know then these 2 pics will help.

lol MR MOPAR, i like that. yah i keep getting updates of little things that show he is recovering and thank you. im trying to figure out what motor i can put in this truck and how. i have a couple good lines on AMC 401's but i dont know how the bellhousings will match up. also i have a line on a cadillac 500 for cheap that runs. i need to get my parts truck here so i can start figuring more things up. on the cadillac if the bolt pattern doesnt match up i can get a bellhousing from a chevy sm465 that will work on the motor but i cant remember if the bellhousing unbolts from the dodge tranny, or length issues.
guess i just have to wait and see.

well i am dead tired, worked a double shift lastnight, picked up my parts truck straight from work and am back at work for another double shift. i will have some pics up later of the parts truck (internet is messed up at home). its a 74 3/4 ton, minus bed and motor. has 8 inches of lift and a 4 speed with a divorced 205, picked it up for $300

well i finally got my internet straigtend out. so here are some pics of my parts truck.
