Not really a build thread, since it's as built as it is going to get. Imagine that, calling a rig 'done.' I figured this would be a good place to post up my BYS carnage and then later a kinda of retrospective of the build up and breakage of my K5 over the 8 or 9 years I have been beating on it. So here goes...

8/4/07
Lost short-side inner on the D60, looks like an old fracture finally let go. Damn neck-down shafts. I can honestly say they have lived a hard life and I'm surprised they lasted as long as they have.

We made it to the Goal Posts on BYS and decided to turn back as the steering was acting up, not turning to the left and making a loud POP and then turning.

We made it out by using the hydro-assist and also steering with the winch, then ripped the controller plug off on one of the last trees before the wall trail. The truck made it almost all the way back to the gravel pit before lunging for the side of the road. Time to go get the trailer.

HEY WHERE IS THE BODY PIC'S OR DO YOU NEED ME TO POST THEM UP..

OH AND GET THAT DAMN K-5 OUT OF MY PARKING SPOT:haha: :flipoff:

The steering box broke just where I was thinking--nice work on that shaft--thats a keeper....:awesomework:

Eh, just weld that 60 shaft back together. Good to go!!!

Nice work on that steering box. I've never seen one fail right there.

Nice Work Brent! Your rig's body is looking closer and closer to what mine looked like before I called it quits on the K5!!!

good work on that steering box. :awesomework:

I got myself some nice body work in the rock garden this weekend too.

NICE! :awesomework:

My K5 isn't quite that bad except i think my doors are worse than yours. I have no rock sliders so pivots use the doors. one dosen't open and the other will only open if you do a 6 step procedure :haha:

I need a cage and sliders and mine will look just as bad i am sure.

Where were you at?
