    DB2 IP Question

Yes button is present. Just wondering if excessive play can overcome the force the spring puts on the end of it. Thanks

    DB2 IP Question

how much endplay is the IP supposed to have? This is on a 6.5 GM, I have the water pump/front cover off, the drive gear on the back of the IP off. The shaft has what I think to be excessive play, I haven't measured it yet but I estimate it to be 3/16-1/4 inch. There is a huge backstory to...

    Recommendation for West Coast Differentials

While we're on the topic; I'll be starting an axle build in the next few months and I'd never have know either one of you (or any one else on the board) were distributors. So for future reference who sells what? I'll be looking for Lockers, R&P sets and CroMo shafts. I want to keep my cash...

D44 Lock Hubs - Warn, MM, Superwinch....

I use the "old school" MM lock-outs that were OEM back in the 70's. They're all metal and have a nice solid engagement feel. I have a pair on the rig and a pair in my spare kit bag. I swear by 'em.

My Bus,,, My Bus,,, My Bus...

Even though it's primer all one color makes it look so much better. Are you going to add back the rain channel from where you cut the lift out? The break in the line throws it all off, but after all it's just cosmetics. What color is it gonna be?

My Bus,,, My Bus,,, My Bus...

I like the idea of double dinettes on Jespersen's bus. I also like the kids to have bunks that do not require breaking down a sofa or dinette, makes putting my little ones to bed a lot easier. Plus your not losing your seating area when the kids pass out. Sounds like you and I both have the...

My Bus,,, My Bus,,, My Bus...

Just re-read all 14 pages of this little gem, was wondering what links you used as part of reasearch and brainstorming? Here is a couple of my favorite builds on "Skoolies" so far. http://www.vonslatt.com/bus-main.shtml http://skewly.com/ I know you said you hadn't planned on getting crazy...

Diesel guru's, school us on buying a diesel

I've always heard 6.9's were solid, reliable motors. More powerfull than the GM stuff I have from what people have said but still no PSD or CTD. WTF do you have to lose by taking it for a test drive. If the price is right and it has the power to move what you need maybe it's the truck for you.

Diesel guru's, school us on buying a diesel

I've been looking real hard at powerstrokes in the earlier bodystyle (94.5-97) Is there a 98 model year for F350's? I see 97's and 99's but never any 98's; did the 99 come out early thus skipping the 98 model year (similar to wranglers skipping 96) Every now and again I'll see a 93 or 94 with...

Diesel guru's, school us on buying a diesel

Not trying to Hi-Jack but rather add to your question as I'm in similar situation with needing a crewcab tow rig to accomodate all the kids. Obviously the 94.5 & up Powerstroke is the engine to have but I've seen IDI 7.3's with the turbo lately fairly cheap. How much of a hit in power would one...

My Bus,,, My Bus,,, My Bus...

The Army gave me a bus licence back when i was a young pup and I can agree with that one 100%. They certainly "feel" powerless but no matter what they just keep moving down the road. The mash the gas technique does indeed work best I always used to joke that they needed a toggle switch not a gas...

My Bus,,, My Bus,,, My Bus...

That's my situation exactly. If I had the cash right now i would have grabbed that last bus dude had and built my own little bunkhouse. How big are your tanks? I've got a friend with a class A, not sure the size of the fresh water but he's run out on the last day on a couple of occasions. Maybe...

Once you climb underneath and see where your holding tanks will fit that may change the location of your fixtures but otherwise looks like an efficient layout.
