90's throw back....Manche build

Re:

Got the rest of the subframe and skids mocked up. Almost done with all the welding on the base.

Looks great, man! Seems like a great shortcut to get a good, square base for your buggy. If I may, could I ask how much that setup set you back?
Yea I think so too. I have the tools and experience to build this from scratch, but quite honestly I don't have the time. Simply for the fact I have severe ocd on projects. I will spend well over 200 hours from this point just staring, drawing, thinking, drinking, and smoking...Not counting the 300 I've spent up to this point...

Now that I have a great start, things will go much smoother and faster. I'm trying very hard to have this as a more simple build, style wise, than the buggy. Also trying to be present for Dixie run!

Thanks 5 bros.

Re:

Plus I enjoy plate and sheet work much more than I do tubing construction.

I has been eyeing this setup for months, hoping I could make it work..

Re:

The subframe is almost ready to have some links and a powertrain attached to it. One more flip for a couple small welds, and then time to really get to work.

Re:

BTW, more props to Drew at goatbuilt. Didn't have to touch even one of the notches with a flap wheel. I actually built the sides in reverse. Bolted skids on, laid the tube in, bolted the tabs, bolted the rub rail, brought all the dimensions to spec, and then tacked the rubs and skid tabs before I made any hard tacks on the tubing. Then removed the skids and finish weld. Worked like a charm.

Did you weight the subframe?
Hell no, sorry, got so excited to throw it down with the links and drive train, simply forgot. Easily 200 lbs though.
